Shay's POV
I watched Professor Trelawney as she went on and on about things I didn't really understand. I was never good at divination. "Together we shall cast ourselves into the future... everyone take the cup of the person next to you... for example Harry you take Ron's and Ron you take Harry's" we all nodded and I took Cho Chang's cup and looked into it "you boy..." professor Trelawney reached out towards Neville causing him to lean back slightly "is your grandmother quite well?" She asked and Neville looked confused "I-I think so..." she looked into his cup and hummed "Oh pity..." she put the cup down and Neville picked it up trying to look inside of it "what?" He asked panicked but got no response "broaden your minds!!" She spoke loudly before looking at Ron and gasping causing him to flinch. I rolled my eyes resting my chin on my hand "this is rubbish" I said under my breath before looking at hermione who looked bored out of her mind. "You young lady... tell me what you see!" Professor Trelawney said staring intently at cho Chang. "Umm well shay has a little wonky cross... that's trials and suffering... and then there's a..." she paused, her eyes widening before she threw the cup down her breathing quickening "What is it?" I asked really worried. Professor Trelawney picked the cup up before copying cho Chang's Actions and throwing the cup down "oh dear... you're in a deep dark hole... I'm very worried for you..." Ron cleared his throat slightly his eyes scanning the words of the book "trials and suffering... as well as... a life full of death eaters..." Ron looked up and I felt a chill run down my spine starting to panic "am I a monster?" I asked standing up "no... it just means your future isn't as... bright as all the others..." professor Trelawney said her voice trembling slightly. She was lying it was obvious. So very obvious. "Sit down dear you're safe with us" I shook my head and stepped away flinching as the stall hit the ground with a loud bang. "I'm not safe... you're lying" I whispered before turning around and running as fast as I could out of the classroom. I couldn't deal with this. As I was running down the stairs a black mist formed infront of me and I watched as bellatrix slowly appeared infront of me as well as Nagini and around fifteen other death eaters. A terrified scream left my mouth and I barged through the black mist as fast as I could. I didn't want to die. I was too young. I stumbled on the last step and didn't notice that the stairs were starting to move. I walked on air and started to panic. I was going to die. As the pictures on the wall shouted out to me I realised that I was going to die. I was stuck. No one was going to save me. If they did it was definitely a miracle. I closed my eyes ready for impact but nothing happened but I did hear a very faint voice "Arresto Momentum" everything went silent and I listened for any sounds but couldn't hear anything. My vision was blurry and I couldn't move. I was stuck. I watched as a tall figure dressed in black walked towards me in a hurried pace and I instantly thought it was a death eater but I hoped and prayed that I was wrong. I closed my eyes tight frozen in shock and adrenaline. The person touched my arm and I tried to move as my worst thought was that it was bellatrix coming to write something in my arm with a knife. Knowing her she would probably write mudblood I started to feel a warm and fuzzy sensation and managed to move my fingers "that's it shay you're doing amazing... open your eyes for me" I opened my eyes very slowly and my vision was more clear. I blinked a few times before staring into the dark eyes of Snape "are you okay?" He asked and that was when I realised the ceiling was moving. Why was the ceiling moving? I then also notice that I was extremely close to Snape. He looked down at me "what happened? You seemed to be quite fearful of something. You're lucky I was checking the grounds" Snape was carrying me in his arms as he knew I definitely could not walk as my legs felt like jelly. "As everyone else is in lessons I'll take you to the slytherin common room so you can calm down" I nodded not being able to form a sentence. I felt the soft sofa underneath me and I sighed. Snape put a blanket over me and sat down beside me smiling a little bit "what happened?" I sighed covering my eyes with my hands "Divination" I whispered and Snape sighed "I know professor Trelawney isn't the greatest but-" I shook my head cutting him off "it isn't about her... I saw something..." Snape frowned "what did you see?" I sighed slightly trying to find the courage to talk "w-well... in the tea leafs cho Chang had my cup and I had a wonky cross on mine and that meant trials and suffering... but I also had a dark shape of something and I got told by Ron that-that it was a death eater... s-so does that mean I'm a death eater or am I going to die or am I not gonna survive to have kids or am I just going to suffer until I die a miserable death?!" He held my hand tightly "hey shay breathe... breathe... you're not going to die..." I held my head tightly starting to shake "hey... shhh..." he got closer and wrapped his arms around me rubbing my back slowly "I-I saw bellatrix and nagini a-and more death eaters including dementors" Snape nodded "that's okay... it's not real... it's a figment of your imagination" I let out a shaky breath and nodded slowly trying to calm down "you're safe... if Dumbledore and I are around you no one can harm you. I assure you" I closed my eyes starting to breathe more calmer "that's it... I'll go talk to professor Trelawney..." I held onto Snape tighter. He is like a father figure to me. "I don't want to be alone" he nodded "okay. Come with me then" I nodded and slowly stood up. He put his hand on my back and walked with me back to Professor Trelawney's class. The class walked out and Ron smiled a little bit at me "here for you" he said and squeezed my hand. I nodded at him thankful for his words before walking into the class with snape. I stayed next to my desk as Snape went up to the professor "you need to be more careful with what you teach and how you use your words... shay is terrified and because of EVERYTHING you've said and done it's completely effected shay... in a bad way... she sees things she should never have to see and this is because of you... get that through your looney brain and REALISE what you're teaching could lead to worse things..." he glared at her before turning around and storming out of the room wrapping an arm around my shoulders and pulling me out of the room "you're safe here okay shay. I'm going to be right here for you and if you want to come spend lunch and break with me then come to my classroom or go to the great hall but sit closer to my table okay?" I nodded and he smiled "If something is out to get you it'll have to get through me first and I can promise you I'm not going down without a fight."
