Sada
February 22nd, 2020"I like this one." I point to the large painting of a woman eating a bowl of ice cream. "That's me everyday." I giggle and she does too, knowing it's true.
"I like this one." She points to the picture beside it that shows a mans face melting into his hands.
"I like that one too." I link our arms and walk to view another painting. In the corner of my eye I see a flash and turn to see a few people outside the gallery with cameras. Since we'd announced our relationship, paparazzi have been slowly taking notice to me but thankfully they keep their distance. This was our first public outing since then so we expected some press. She seemed to not be phased by it at all but I was freaking out on the inside.
"Babe-" I nervously call to her.
"I see them." She says simply, not turning her eyes away from the painting. I stand awkwardly feeling myself start to fidget with my ring. "Do you want to go?" She asks, finally turning to face me and I look over seeing the group had gotten a bit bigger.
"Yeah, I'm getting hungry anyway." She grabs my hand and we walk to the door. "Just keep your head down, okay?" She tells me and I nod taking a nervous breath. She kisses my forehead lovingly then pushes the door open. I squint my eyes at the bright flashes and tighten the grip on her hand.
"Billie! Over here!" A guy yells and gets extremely close. I pull her into me and walk a little faster.
"Is that your girlfriend?! She's gorgeous! Do you model?!" A guy asks and I hear Billie giggle beside me. I nudge her lightly and smile when she looks over at me.
"A model?" She giggles and I shrug with a light blush. We quickly find our car and I hop in the drivers seat. I take a deep breath and look over at her before bursting into a fit of laughter.
"That wasn't that bad." I say after we compose ourselves. "Okay, you ready?" I ask starting up the car and she nods. I slide my chair back and unclasp my heels.
"You want your slippers?" She asks.
"Yeah, I can't drive barefoot." I pass her my heels and she swaps them out for my house slippers. I adjust my seat after slipping them on and put on my seatbelt. I pull out of the spot and put my phone on the car mount. "Did you like the gallery?"
"Yeah, we should've got some of those paintings for the living room."
"The one with the two girls?"
"Yeah I wanted to get it but they said someone got it already." I glance over seeing a small pout on her face.
"I got it for you." I tell her and stop at a red light. I glance over at her seeing a smile spread on her face.
"You did?"
"I saw you staring at it so I had them put it in the trunk when you went to the bathroom." She leans over to give me a kiss and I gladly accept. She pecks my lips a few times with a wide smile on her face.
"Thank you." I grab her hand and kiss the back of it before turning my attention back to the road. "So where are we going?"
"I'm not telling you." I say in a sing songy tune just to agitate her. She's been asking all day long and I haven't said anything because I know how she'll react.
"It better not be expensive." She mumbles and I shake my head but keep quiet. We get there quickly and as soon as I pull up she starts immediately declining. "Oh no, this fancy shit?"
"Get your ass out the car! I made reservations." I turn the car off and reach for my shoes. I take my slippers off and open the car door to put my heels back on. I step out of the car and grab my things before closing it shut. Billie reluctantly gets out of the car and I hold my arm out for her.
