Sada
March 21st, 2020I wipe my tears and stick a spoonful of ice cream in my mouth. I hear a long groan beside me and turn my head seeing Billie standing stupidly by our front door with Shark. I smack my lips and turn my head back to the tv. I get up and go to the kitchen clutching my stomach with a frown. I open the freezer door and toss the ice cream in there. I toss the spoon in the sink and roll my eyes when Billie walks in to go into the cabinet.
Look at her stupid beautiful face. I ignore her and open the fridge to get a bottle of water. I push past her and she smacks her teeth again. I go flop back on the couch and Shark jumps on my lap making me smile. I hear the bedroom door close and I look back at it with a frown.
"Mommy's mad at me cause I'm mad at her?" I ask Shark looking down at him. I sigh and grab the remote to change the channel. About 30 minutes later Billie comes out completely changed and sits next to me.
"Are you still mad at me?" She asks innocently and my heart melts when I look at her adorable face.
"No, I found some ice cream," I tell her fighting back the smirk.
"You cursed me out for 10 minutes and we already had some?" She asks with a shocked expression and I bite the side of my cheek nervously. "Answer me."
"Yes- but you can't blame me! I thought you ate it all!" I rush out and she shakes her head but smiles anyway. My period this month has been the worst one this year and Billie has been getting my wrath. I had gotten off work today and called her asking if we had any ice cream, she claimed she ate it and I completely lost it on her.
When she got home I went off on her again because she laughed at me then cried when I found some. After all, I felt bad. But when she walked in the door I got angry all over again. Because why would you laugh at something like that?
"You see how mean she is to your mommy Shark?"
"Don't listen to her baby she wants to leave you anyway," I tell Shark and pat his head with a pout.
"Oh- I was gonna bring Shark with me." She says hesitantly and I whip my head in her direction.
"What?" My heart sinks to my chest and she sighs fiddling with the hem of her shirt.
"I wanted to take him with me. He's just never been without me, I didn't think it would be a problem."
"No, no baby it's not. He's your dog after all." I tell her sadly and scratch the back of his head. "I'll be sad to see you two go." I frown looking over at her and back down at a now sleeping Shark.
"You wanna help me cook?" She asks and I nod carefully sliding Shark off of me. "My baby" she coos and bends down to kiss his head.
"What's on the menu?" I ask hopping on the counter. She connects her phone to the bluetooth and I smirk when Meditation by Goldlink and Jasmine Sullivan plays.
"Don't say it." She cuts me off just as I was about to brag about how I put her on. I zip my lips and watch her maneuver around the kitchen.
I still see ya, I still see ya
Doing everything that we said we gon do
Girl I still see ya, I still see ya
Puttin all my pride and my girls to the sideCause I still see ya, I still see ya
Smokin all my weed, bend the corners in the street
So I can still see ya, I still see ya"Ya wanna be me? I wanna eat ya. I wanna meet ya ex so I can beat em'. And have a daughta and be a teacha and never follow, and be ya leader." I rap along and watch her pull pots out.
