Chapter 39

So me and Cyn are at the nail salon getting our nails done when I decided to ask Cyn something that I'm actually kinda nervous about hearing her response to.

Erica: So, babe, how would you feel about meeting my son?

Cyn: I think I would feel really...

Erica: You're not ready yet, are you?

Cyn: What? No babe. I was gonna say I would feel really anxious about it. I can't wait to finally meet him.

Erica: Really?

Cyn: well of course. I know we haven't been together for a while now but I know how much your son means to you and I would like to meet him. You talk about him every chance you get and I wanna see for myself how good of a kid he is.

Erica: *starting to tear up* thank you babe. That means so much to me.

Cyn: Erica, why are you crying for?

Erica: I guess I was afraid that maybe you would have second thoughts about wanting to get to know King and accept the fact that you are with someone who has a kid already. I've had people before in past relationships that wouldn't accept King and that would hurt me cuz if they couldn't accept my son then they can't have me.

Cyn: Well I'm not them, Erica. Whoever can't accept someone's child then they shouldn't be in a relationship with them in the first place. I know how much you love your son and how big of a deal you want his life to be better than what you had growing up, anyone parent would want their child's life better in any way possible. I just want you to know that I'm willing to put the time to get to know King and hopefully love him as well as much as I love you.

Erica: thank you babe. That means a lot to me.

Cyn: You're welcome babe. So when do you want me to meet him?

Erica: how about today? I'll call my mom and ask her if I can have King for a couple days and we'll just stay at my place for the rest of the time being here.

Cyn: that's fine. Do you think he's gonna like me though?

Erica: I know he will. He's only six but he's very smart for his age so he wouldn't say he likes someone if he doesn't mean it.

Cyn: wonder where he got that from or should I say who lol.

Erica: hey, that's pretty much my mini me there. He is a Mena and we don't sugarcoat the truth from nobody.

Cyn: then I'll be more nervous to meet the rest of your family then if that's the case.

Erica: they will love you and you wanna know why?

Cyn: why Erica?

Erica: cuz I love you and that's all that matters. If they see that I'm truly happy and I'm being myself without any worries then they will love who I'm with as well.

Cyn: well I have to worry about the rest of your family another day. Today is about both your worlds meeting.

Erica: what you mean by that?

Cyn: I know how you said that King is your world and you wanna give it to him and also you've mentioned that I'm your world as well, so both me and him are hopefully are gonna combined as one today if everything goes well and hit it off and he likes me.

Erica: awwh that's so cute babe. And I know that'll happen. You ready to go?

Cyn: I know I said I'm anxious but now I'm getting a little nervous.
