Chapter 82 - Safe breath
I can hear panic noise and each minute that passes, it becomes louder and nearer but like the pass hours that am being held here, hearing this type of noise isn't a new thing.
The sound of a braided rope being whip on a person's body ..so terrifying but I had no option, I heard them all and being held captive near their cell isn't helping.
I wrap my hands around mother in panic when I began to hear the thwack of knives and the shouting of terrified voices.
"What's happening? I asked mother when the two guards that are supposed to be keeping an eye on us leave the room in a haste.
"Oh god!" Mother scream in panic, her body shaking real bad ..I begin to panic too, still holding mother tightly _I peep to know what she saw that has her shaking so badly and I saw the dead body of one of the guards on the ground.
Thud!. Now followed by the second one.
I grab my chest as I sight a foot followed by another ..making it's way into the room we are in. I didn't know when I started to pray but that's what am doing as the owner of the legs enter inside fully. I close my eyes, not wanting to see when he raises a sword to my neck but that didn't happen so I opened my eyes and then I found another legs, a running one ..it rush toward me and mother and it took my breath away when the owner of the running foot pull us in a breathtaking embrace ..instantly, I open my eyes.
"God! Min Jun!" I yell happily then hit him followed by another because he'd scared me. I thought I was going to die but.. But god! "How come you're here?" I asked now hugging him back then I look up and that's when I recognized the owner of the first feet to enter.
Raizo.
I started to look around, hoping to find my husband next but to my disappointment, he isn't here. I heave a sigh of sadness but then a bothersome thought starts to flow in my mind and I find my body shaking.
"Nana." Min Jun called repeatedly but I couldn't answer because my mind and body are occupied with fear and sadness of what may have become of Mandir. He started to shake me but I still refused to hield because I feel like if I do, I might disgrace myself in front of them all ..I might cry uncontrollably to the extent that they'd think I've fallen ill but he stopped all these from happening when he turned my face to his, looking me directly in the eye. His eyes that of concern, care and love.
"Stop thinking whatever it is you're thinking and any conclusion you just made ..undo it. Nana!" He yells. I unconsciously raise my hands up and cover his mouth to prevent him from yelling more. "Am here" I said and he sighed in relief then stood up.
He smiles happily as he says "Mother, Nana ..please stand up let's go" and I stood up but mother didn't so I turn to her questioning ..the look on her face is that of bewilderment.
I chuckle as I help her up. This is the second time that I realise that all I've said to mother, she believed none.
"Mother like I told you earlier, Min Jun is alive and please remove that look you have on ..it's scary." I said to mother who after begin to cry but I know that her tears are that of joy ..It's so obvious. Still in tears, she hug Min jun while calling his name repeatedly in disbelieve.
I smile as I watch them but the moment was cut short when Raizo told us that we need to go and that's what we did.
Raizo head out first in a hurry while saying something related to a horse and the rest of us walked down the hill and meet Raizo with the said horse halfway to a path. Me and mother climb on with the assistance of Min Jun then him and Raizo hold the horse at both side and we begin to head home.
Halfway home, I grab Min Jun hand all of a sudden which made him look up at me worriedly. "Hwa" I breathe out a breath I didn't know I was holding. "Is she dead?
