Chapter 93 - Numb
I remember I had woken up earlier and requested for water, I also got fed by Jandi which should seem strange to me but I didn't pay much attention to any of it. She also tried to engage me in a conversation but I pushed her off and forced myself back to sleep.
I feel it so stupid of me to wish I never wake up but this is how I feel and I can't help it, I want to be numb forever and maybe this is why I have refused to open my eyes given the fact that I was already awake.
"I should stay this way forever" I kept telling myself but Jandi worried words are quite disturbing and why is she still crying?
Every part of my body feels okay except my heart and my left hand, so why does she sound so scared each day she comes to see me?
"Lady Nana." Jandi called immediately I grab her hand to stop her from crying. I looked over at Jandi and her eyes are red from too much crying.
She wipe off the tears in her eyes and sit properly. "You were asleep for a long time and I was scared."
I groan in pain when i I tried to lift myself up but end up hurting my injured arm. "Where are we Jandi? I asked because this is the first time my eyes are taking a very good look around the unfamiliar surroundings.
While still doing this, I almost jumped down from the bed when my eyes met a certain color, for a moment I had thought that we're in the palace and inside my husband chambers but now looking closer, I realized that we aren't. Although this room seems to be similar to that of my husband's, it isn't as unique as his.
"Am sorry lady Nana, I know you'd wish for me to take you back before you passed out, but I'd tried." She said before she grabbed a hold of my hands as if in relief. "When you fell, I ran looking for help but saw no one. That place was just surrounded by bushes and woods so I came back to you and with Almighty's help, I was able to lift your body on Joahaeyo. At first my intention was to return us back to the palace but in the process of doing that, we got lost and when I realized this ..I began to follow the only trail of light around and that is how we got here.
You don't have to worry though, they are good people and when you fell, you fell landing with your hands, that's why your hands hurt." She says and she would have continued if someone hadn't walked in.
What surprises me is the way Jandi have been looking at the stranger immediately he walked in and also the wide smile that's on her face, this makes me confused and also disturbed and it left me with the question.
"How many days have I been out?"
I know I made myself numb, but it can't possibly be for a very long time to the extant that Jandi and this stranger are now looking at each other as two people in love should.
"Jandi." I called and at the same time pull her on her hand which brought her attention back to me and this also brought back the stranger attention to me as well.
He coughed to gain our attention after I whispered to Jandi, asking her who the man is. I guess he heard, I mean he's standing just five inches away from were we are so it's possible that he heard and that's why he coughed.
It wasn't until I looked up at him that his mouth moved. At first his eyes looks at me with confusion before it went back to normal.
"I now understand why Jandi talks so fondly of you." He said steadily while looking at me and Jandi's joint hands. He continues. "I asked her out for a date but she wouldn't even leave your sight given the fact that you were as out as a dead bird."
"How.." I began to say but the look Jandi was giving him made me stop and begin to watch them as they use their eyes to communicate to one another.
From what I could tell through looking at Jandi, It seems like she's scolding the stranger and it also seems like she's succeeding.
