chapter 27 Christine

The next morning, Bella was dragged out of bed by Scorpius who had been trying to wake her for the past hour.

Eventually, he had gotten tired of playing around and grabbed her leg before he pulled her out from under the covers causing her to squeal out.

She looked up at him with a pout.

"Come on, they are waiting on us" he explained.

"I dont wanna get up" she protested.

Scorpius scooped her up and carried her out of the room.

When they got into the throne room and sat down Christine picked up the book and started reading.

the group looked around and saw that they were in a palace.

"wait, whats going on?" Seto asked looking confused.

"no idea" Mahad replied looking just as confused.

"where are we?" Ryou asked looking around curiously.

"Inside the palace" Atem replied as he looked around.

"whoa neat" Joey said as he looked around taking in the scene. He looked over as Mahad walked into view.

"whoa! is that...Dark magician!" Tristan said in shock.

"I'm in this quite a bit." Mahad commented as he stared at the book.

"From what I know" Melinoe says. "You make appearances a lot in the future" Melinoe explained. "The three of you, despite what happened, are still close friends. And his most trusted." she says.

Mahad looked stunned by this.

Atem on the other hand was very happy by her words.

Christine had a look of relief.

They looked over hearing a grumble only to see Aknadin getting punched very hard by Horus.

"his name is Mahad" Atem replied as he watched Christine turn the corner and bump right into him.

"My lady!" Mahad said looking surprised, but the surprise turned to a look of concern. "what is wrong?" he asked.

"the pharaoh!" Christine said looking distraught.

"Another argument my lady?" Mahad asked with a sigh.

"not again!"

"No" Christine replied shaking her head. "this time it is not about her." she replied. "he...he is not well. I believe it to be the effects of going into the shadows" she explained. Mahad's eyes widened.

"huh?" Shadi asked.

Atem made a face at that as he thought back to how horrible the trip into the shadows had made him feel.

Tea, Joey, and Tristan looked over at Atem as Yugi appeared beside him.

"what did you go into the shadows for?" Ryou asked.

"i am not sure" Atem replied watching the scene in front of them.

Everyone in the throne room looked at Atem hoping for answers.

Atem scowled a little. "this is between me and Christine" he says firmly. many people looked disappointed at this answer.

Christine looked at him insulted and bewildered.

"is there anything you need my lady?" Mahad asked watching her concerned.

"I...may need some fresh herbs. I feel a slight fever coming on...but other than that, I am fine...and i can get the herbs my self" Christine added shaking her head a little.
