The first test was revealed to be the signal song test, it was quite a good song. However I had only been given part 13... so I had like one line and no time as a center at any point, just passing the center in a position change. In the beginning there had been some problems with learning the choreography as Heeseung had decided to add his own twist to the choreography, but that got fixed by Niki taking the center position instead.

As the end of the week had come nearer, the end of the test as well, the egg had turned just two days before the performance and we had all huddled together in it before stepping out on the stage in front of a tall silhouette of a man. It turned out to be producer Rain who stood there waiting for us and he strolled towards us in a few long steps. He was much taller up close that I had ever imagined.

"I'm Producer Rain, and I'm in charge of the first test. I'm the producer of this show, but for you I want to be your emotional pillar. Like a friendly hyung... or oppa," he looked over at me and I slightly winced at the word, "right you're foreign. Not comfortable with the word?"

"I'm doing my best to get more used to it, but I really don't like it," I excused with a bow of my head.

"Then it's alright," he assured with a soft smile and I happily nodded as Geonu, who stood beside me, gave me a small pat on my back, as a form of encouragement, "but I'm going to speak informally, okay?"

"Yes."

"Are you okay with that?"

"Yup."

"Now are you preparing well for the test?"

"Yes we are!"

"What I'm curious about is your current skill level, right?"

"Yes."

"I'm gonna watch you perform."

"Okay."

"It's best to make mistakes in front of me. Think of yourselves as athletes, it's best to make mistakes in front of the coach. That's how you improve your performance before the actual test. Okay, so let's get in position."

We all quickly got into position and the music started and we performed as we had practiced. Being part 13 meant that I had to move a lot around between positions, but I managed to get to each place on time for each step. But it was still hard and exhausting to have to rush back and forth so much, just getting into position before having to dance on. Once we finished Rain immediately stepped forward.

"Get into a line, quickly, quickly!" he exclaimed and I quickly moved back and lined up with the other boys," now you guys are going to sing."

This one statement took everyone by surprise, and everyone looked surprised at that. Everyone were breathing heavily as we went over the vocals of the song. I had one line which I executed perfectly, if I had to say so myself, and as we sang the chorus Rain moved around the line to listen closer to people. After having finished the vocal training he immediately told us to go out into positions and now do the song with vocals which we did.

He would yell out corrections for people when they sang and danced and they would try to apply it to their best ability. Once we finished we all lined up once again and he began giving feedback about everything, and individually.

"Jiyeon?" he called out and I nodded as he stepped closer to me as I mentally prepared myself to get whatever feedback he had for me.

"Yes," I replied steadily, trying to remain calm. But he was quite a big icon, so it might have still seeped through that I was quite nervous in front of him.

"You're the most stable vocalist I've heard in a long time," he said and I quickly bowed at him in surprise.

"Thank you," I smiled widely as I stood up straight once more.
