"Z-zaffron..."

I didn't know if he heard it. I felt so weak it came out like a whisper to the wind. Probably inaudible to him considering the noise around us and the flights being called.

But I almost fall on my post as I saw him stopped, a meter away from me. My grip on my luggage tightened as I if I'm rooting my strength to it.

My eyes moistened and with all the strength I have, I willed myself to do it again.

"Zaffron," I called him again, this time, it was clearer that I knew he heard it.

I watched him turned to look back at me.

Without breaking our eye contact, he walked back to me until he's standing in front of me.

My nose instantly filled with the smell of an expensive sandalwood men's perfume. I let my eyes leave his sight and glance at his black jeans and washed denim jacket with white inner shirt. A branded watch was glistening as it hugged his wrist. His face had the absences of stubbles and his hair was on a clean cut. His whole being was undeniable screaming luxury with all the known brand of his clothes.

When my eyes met his again, I realized that he's been eyeing me for quite some time already. Watching me as I checked him out with my amused eyes.

I saw a ghost of smile on his lips as he stood in front of me, offering his hand.

"Zaffron Cortel. Finally. We met again."

His voice became more solid and manlier just like his physical feature that matured. My eyes travel from his eyes down to his extended hand then back to his face again.

"Ow, you saw my surprise already," napatingin ako sa phone ko at nakitang na-end na ni Nana ang call. Saka ko lang nalaman na naka-call pa pala siya simula kanina at nakalimutan ko na.

My mind didn't process her words yet, since my head was occupied by the man in front of me. With my mind still floating, slid my phone on the back pocket of my jeans. I saw him watching me before our eyes glued to each other again. Both afraid someone might disappear in an instant.

My lips began to quiver as I remembered all the things I've been through on the past years. I thought, when I saw him again, I'll have an overflowing happiness. That I'll throw myself to him and hug him tightest. But that didn't come. All I could do was stand in front of him with wet eyes. Feeling the pain and misery of the past reliving.

"You're cruel," I told him and a lone tear escaped my eyes. His eyes widened in shocked. His free hand moved near my face but before he touch my face, I stepped back then dried my own tears.

"It for you--"

"It wasn't!" tumaas ang boses ko at hindi nakaligtas sa aking paningin ang ilang tumitingin sa amin.

"You should've told m-me," my voice broke as I tried to hold back my tears. "You should've informed me you'll leave so I can ready myself. Maiintindihan ko naman. Hahayaan naman kitang umalis pero sana sinabi mo para nahanda ko 'yung sarili ko." The tears on my eyes started to well again. "Not like that. Not when you gave light in my world. Then the next day, left me in the dark, expecting your light for another day but that didn't come."
