Malayo pa lang ay natanaw ko na si Zaffron. Lumaki ang mga hakbang ko papunta sa kaniya kasabay ang ngiti kong unti-unting lumalaki.

He was wearing a simple army green shirt and a sweetpants. Parang nasa bahay lang pero bakit ang gwapo pa rin? Or maybe I was bias? I don't know. All I know is I love him. And finally, we will start this road to a lifetime together.

I stopped in front of him. "Hi?" I said shyly as if this is the first time we met.

I watched his eyes settled on my face before it landed to my left land like he was searching for something. I bit my lip to prevent myself from smiling and raised my hand to it to him. A smile immediately creeped to his lips.

"Ready to spend a lifetime with me?"

"Never been this prepared on my whole life."

We grinned at each other then he held my hand, out of the airport.

"This is yours?" manghang tanong ko nang makarating kami sa parking lot at huminto sa isang sasakyang mukhang bago pa dahil sa linis.

Tumango siya nang bumaling ako sa kaniya at pinagbuksan ako ng pintuan. Halos malaglag na ang panga ko nang pumasok ako sa loob habang inaasikaso naman niya ang luggage ko.

I scanned the amazing interior of his car as he walked around to the drivers seat. The smell in his car filled with a luxury perfume when he entered and sat in front of the steering wheel. I watched him do his seatbelt before he expertly turned on the engine to life.

"Hungry?"

Still couldn't form a word while I'm still in awe, I nodded.

I heard him chuckled and removed his seatbelt. Nagulat ako nang lumapit siya sa akin. Akala ko ay kung ano na ang gagawin niya pero inabot lang pala niya ang seatbelt sa gilid ko bago iyon hinatak.

"I love you too, baby. But don't let me occupy your mind alone. I need you safe," he said in a low tone. Then as I heard the click sound of the seatbelt, he planted a kiss on my cheeks.

That sent me back to my senses and blushed, replaying how I reacted to the first few minutes I'm with him. I bowed my head a little to hide my face using the hair strands that fall on my shoulder. Umandar na ang sasakyan at nakalabas na ng parking lot.

I bit my lower lip and looked outside the car. Watching the orange streetlights and the cars passing us.

That was embarrassing!

"Hold my hand?"

Napabaling ako sa kaniya pagkatapos ay pababa sa kamay niyang nasa ere. Ang isang kamay ay bihasang minamaniobra ang steering wheel.

I hold onto it and slid my fingers between his. I watched a ghost smile playing on his lips.

There was a silence between us but it was comforting. I realized, I never felt this peace for the past years until now.

Few years ago, I always made myself busy. I don't want to be left alone without doing anything because I'm afraid I might think of something that I shouldn't. Kahit nga nagda-drive ako at biglang nagkatraffic, magpapatugtog ako. Para lang ma-entertain ko ang sarili ko.
