Be Mine, Attorney

⚖️ CHAPTER XXII ⚖️

TEN YEARS AGO
 (3rd Person's POV)

Tatcher always find himself sitting in the campus library. Waiting for a girl that keeps on bugging his mind- the girl with an angelic face yet a monstrous brain - Zoei.

He smiled as he remembered what happened in the quiz bee competition he watched last week. Zoei Seraphine is one of the participants. She singlehandedly won the competition with a calm and collected face. He did not even see her struggle with the questions while her competitors just gave up .  He felt proud eventhough he was not the one who won.

Everyone in the campus knows what Zoei is capable of- that she is indeed a genius. And that brain of hers is what makes her even more interesting to Tatcher.

'That girl really is amazing' he said to himself.

He patiently waits for the girl to arrive. His heart beats fast when he saw her entered the library with her friends. As usual, she is just gorgeous as ever.

A student immediately rushed towards her and gave her a cup of coffee. Nagpakilala ang estudyante na simpleng tagahanga ng dalaga. She then accepted it with a bright smile.

Tatcher ordered the student to do that. He offered him money and the student immediately agreed. Hindi kasi niya magawang lumapit sa dalaga- he is just contented with observing her from a distance.

'Fuck that smile. So breathtaking. I'm willing to pay millions to see it.'

Umalis si Tatcher sa kinauupuan niya after he saw her. Ang makita si Zoei ang tanging sadya niya doon, wala ng iba. Seeing her makes his day complete. 

'Someday, I will have the courage to face you. When that day comes, you will surely be mine.'

Zoei's POV

Tatcher hold my hand as we walk towards his office.

"Saglit lang Tatcher. I don't understand. Why are you doing this? May kailangan ka ba sa akin?"

Napatigil kami sa paglalakad dahil sa tanong ko.

"What do you think attorney?"

Binawi ko ang kamay ko sa kanya. "I don't know. Kaya nga kita tinatanong diba. Ano ako, manghuhula? Are you playing with me perhaps?"

He smirked. "You think of it that way? Let me clear with you then."

He leaned towards me and whispered to my ears." I don't flirt for nothing attorney. I like you. Simple as that."

Hindi naman ako nakapagsalita sa mga sinambit niya. I can just feel my heart wanting to explode. I won't deny, I have feelings for him since I saw him in college. But I did not even dare to pursue him because he is a person so high for me to reach. He is someone I should not fall for- a person that is a part of a society I can never belong to.

"That is a big statement right there, sir. Please stop joking. This is a serious matter."

I can never risk my heart to someone like him. Even with what he said, my worries cannot be removed.

"I'll court you then- to prove that I am serious with you. You don't know what effect you are giving me attorney. You're actually driving me crazy."

He then held my hand again. "Let's go. You're complaining about food right? We better hurry to feed the demons in your stomach."

Pagkain ang alam kong tinutukoy niya. Pero itong si Tatcher, iba ata ang gustong kainin.
