"I think it's time we did some bonding."

*Clarissa's P.O.V*
I didn't want to "bond" with him. He didn't want anything to do with me an hour ago, why would he now? I glared at him. "I don't want to." I said.
"Well too bad. You're going to."
I tried to swim past him, but apparently he has really fast reflexes or knew what I was gonna do, because he was right there. Apparently I wasn't going to get past him. Maybe... I tried to swim under him, but he was too quick for that to work too.
I was trying to make a plan, but I don't think any of my plans are going to work. Unless...
I sighed, defeated and sat down. "Good. See, was that so hard?" Zayn questioned me. "Yes." I replied blankly. Then I jumped over him instead, as he was still in the water, so I was up higher than he was. I successfully jumped over him and started swimming. I was a foot away from the cave exit and a hand grabbed my wrist. Dammit! Apparently Zayn recovered from his shock. I turned around and glared at him. "That was clever," he admitted. "I thought so," I said giving him attitude.
"Ok, look," he said, "We really need to talk about this."
"No." I said, " No we fucking don't."
"Well I think we do."
"Well I think we don't."
"Can I just explain my side of what you heard in the phone? You don't have to talk, I just want you to listen." He pleaded.
I thought about it for minute. It couldn't hurt to hear his side of it. I sighed. "I'm listening."
"Thank you," he said relieved, "Ok, well what you heard on the phone was a conversation between me and my mum."
"Ok.." I said. I didn't care about this part. I just wanted to know what the hell he was talking about me for.
"So, she was just checking in with me. Making sure I settled in alright." I looked at him annoyed, I don't care about this shit.
"And then she asked if I was getting along well with both of you. I told her that I was getting along great with Felicity, but not with you." I was about to interrupt him, but he silenced me with a look.
" It's not because of you exactly. It's just that you seem really awkward around me all the time. Like you don't really want me here or something."
I never would've thought he'd feel the same way I do. Maybe I'm more like him than I thought... when I came back to reality, I realized he was looking at me wondering what I was gong to say.
"Is that really how you feel?"
"Yeah," he said, " That's exactly how I feel."
"Well that's how I feel too." He looked at me confused. "What?" He asked. "Why?"
"Because you just seem to be so much closer with Felicity. I thought you just didn't want to associate with me."
"No!" He said shocked. "No, that's not it at all!"
"So, basically, our issue is that we both thought the same thing.." I said confused.
"Yeah, I guess."
"Thank you for explaining that to me." I said, relieved.
"Thank you for letting me explain." He said back.
"I'm glad we had this chat."
"Me too." He smiled at me.
"So, can we just start over?" I asked hopefully. I didn't want this talk to be pointless.
"I'd like that," he answered.
"But don't expect to get hugs or anything from me," I teased.
"Why not?" He asked, laughing.
"I just don't really hug people," I said shrugging.
"Oh, alright." He said, "Ready to go home?"
"Yeah, let's go." I smiled at him. "I'll race you."
"You're on!" He shouted at me
"Ready?" I was so gonna win this. "3, 2, 1, GO!"
And we swam out of the cave.
