Clarissa's P.O.V.
When we walked into the school, we headed straight to the auditorium. We took Zayn to where the audience sits so he could find seats for himself and Felicity, and then left him to his own devices. We headed backstage, and of course, who do we run into? The Pink Sluts. "What the heck are you freaks doing here?" Asked their leader, Abby. We stood in a kind of triangle, with me at the front, Melanie and Ellie on each side of me, and Eva and Gabby beside them.
"I don't know. Ladies," I said sarcastically to my friends. "Do any of YOU know why we're here?""Um, I think we're here to kick your asses," Gabby said with attitude.
"I'm pretty sure it's the other way around bitch," Grace, their 'second in command,' said. These bitches have issues.
I was about to retaliate, when I felt a hand on my arm. I looked over to see Tyler giving me a look that said don't do anything stupid, they aren't worth it. He was right, so I stayed quiet. "I hope there isn't a problem here ladies." He said the last word with venom in his tone.
"Oh, not at all, babe." Said Katrina, winking at him and twirling her hair. Ha! That's not gonna work, dumbass, I thought to myself. These girls have been trying to get with these boys since 9th grade, and failed epically.
"Um, no. Never flirt with me again," Tyler said, disgusted. Damn straight! Go Tyler. Anyways.. the pink sluts walked away, pissed that they couldn't do anything. Not with the boys here as well as us.
After that, it was the first band's time to go onstage. They were called Total Vocal. They were some sort of screamo/rock band thing. They sang their song that I didn't bother to listen to, not really my thing, and then walked off. The Pink Sluts went up next.
They sang Shake it Off by Taylor Swift and-surprise, surprise- they had a really slutty dance to go with it. It was disgusting, the way they have no self respect and did stuff like this to get attention.
Next up was some jazz band called 'SMOOTH' or something. Their song kind of bored me. I don't really like jazz, it's just so dumb. Like, it's not fast and upbeat, and it also isn't slow. It just really annoys me.
We were up next. I could feel the pre-performance adrenaline start to rush through me, giving me an excited thrill up my spine. We were going to sing an original song that I wrote. The curtains closed and we clapped respectfully to the Jazz band as they cleared off the stage.
Once they were gone, we hurried onto the stage to set up our instruments. Eva sat down at her drum set, looking excited. She was always excited to play the drums, whether it was in front of an audience or not, and whether or not it was a competition. She just loved doing it, no matter what other people said, did, or thought. I thought that was amazing.
Next, Gabby and Melanie took their places at the mikes. They just seemed to have this aura about them that was just pure happiness. This was Gabby's dream, to be up here, singing for people, and she was good at it. She put so much passion and emotion into the music, like she has a personal connection to every song she sings. Melanie is just happy to be up here with us, having fun, and being young for as long as possible.
Next up was Ellie. She grabbed her bass and took her place near the back of the stage. This was just something she loved to do. She has written music and everything for that bass. She never wrote lyrics, but the music she made was absolutely beautiful.
Then it was my turn. I stood next to my guitar for a few minutes, just admiring the instrument's beauty. This was my pre-show ritual. I just stood here looking at it and getting the feel of the instrument in my hands.
