"You were in jail?!?!" I knew she was going to overreact. "It's a long story mom. I just lost control of myself." "I don't want to hear it. You didn't call or anything! I had to hear it from Gracie." I'm sure she didn't know about Jay and Gracie. I didn't know if it was my place to tell her. Gracie was an adult, she knew how to make her own decisions, but Jay was like family, he was like a brother to me. "Mom, she's kinda the reason why I was locked up. I think you'll want to sit down for this." Well, I told her, she nearly choked me because she thought I was lying, but she finally believed me.

"So you're telling me, my sister is having a fling with your friend?! What kind of carp is this?!" I knew she'd go crazy over this too. "Look mom, I was just as mad as you are now, but when you think about it, they're both adults. Sure, Gracie is a lot older, but Jay is still an adult. They know what they're doing,  and if we try to interfere, we'll just encourage their feelings. Trust me, neither of them can commit to a long term relationship." She looked at me with worry in her eyes. "I hope you're right Justin."
