I feel like puking now. Maybe because my stomach is saying that I need to get something to eat before I start puking.
Or maybe it's because of that awkward conversation with Blake. I was so close. So close to telling him about my pregnancy but like always, I'm a coward and I hurt him.
My heart is still stabbed at the pain I caused to him as I take a hold of Cam's arm, and take him away from the waitress he was talking to.
"Ow!" he says to me once we're out of earshot. "Dude! What is wrong with you?!"
"Shut up and listen," I say to him. I look around just to make sure no one watching and I softly say, "You need to take me out on our break."
"Wow," he says in shock. "I thought I'd never hear you say that..."
I roll my eyes at him and he chuckles. "Cam. I'm serious. I need you to take me to get something to drink. I'm trying to stay away from Blake! Don't you get it?!"
Cam furrows his brows at me. "You're trying to hide from your fiance?"
I sigh with annoyance. I knew this wasn't gonna get anywhere with him. My stomach suddenly growls and this makes me groan. Cam notices my exhaustion and says, "What you need are some shots."
My stomach angrily responds to him with a low rumble and I shake my head at him. "I'm laying it back on the drinking, Cam." A headache starts up in my head and I run a hand down my face.
Cam does a scoff. "Yeah right. Something is seriously wrong with you for you to say that."
Suddenly, an idea pops up in my head and I smile at. "Cam. If you go out to get a drink with me, I'll tell you my secret."
This brings Cam's attention and his eyes shine with curiosity. "Oh really?"
"Yes sir," I say with a smirk and Cam nods.
"Fine then. This better be worth it. If not, you come to a party with me tonight."
"Yeah yeah," I say to him. "Whatever. Meet up with you at the parking lot during break?" He nods and we separate paths.
By the time we meet up, I urge to get to wherever we're going as my empty stomach threatens to kill me now.
"Where to?" Cam says as he follows me to where our cars are parked.
"Literally anywhere that has food," I say. "Tell me and I'll follow."
Cam nods; liking my plan. "Okay. You're not allergic to anything, right?"
I shake my head at him. Even if I was, I wouldn't care at this point. All I care for is to have something in my stomach. So we enter to a nearby diner and get in line to say our order. I immediately look up at the large board with various options to stop my agony.
"You know...this is where I was gonna take you if you ever did agree to go out with—"
I barely hear Cam as we step up the counter and I order my lunch. My mouth waters at just the words of each of my orders and I give the cashier a smile once I'm done.
I look over at Cam and see that he has been watching me with a frown. "Oh. I'm sorry. You were saying?"
Cam rolls his eyes at me and shakes his head to show me that it doesn't matter now. I immediately feel bad for my ignorance to my friend, but he just orders a drink and tells me, "I was just saying that this is my favorite place for lunch."
"Oh," I say. "Cool."
"Mhm.." He drops his odd attitude when we get to our table and smiles widely at me. "So," he says with twinkling eyes. "What's the secret?"
