Meriedeth Salazar
"Ano pala pag-uusapan natin?"
Tiningnan niya ako at huminga ng malalim.
"I just want to give this club application form to you, maybe you'll change your mind," may inabot siyang papel.
Nanlaki mata ko when he grabbed my hand and place the paper. Its a club application form. Tiningnan ko siya at umiling.
"Ayokong sumali, hindi ako interesado."
"I know but just take it, baka magbago isip mo," and he smiled.
Club application form
Club: EEHS Swimming club
May mga rules doon and also benefits of the club. On the last part, signature over printed name of the applicant and guardian or parent's signature.
"If you change your mind, perma mo lang at ng guardian mo ang kailangan. No registration fees needed."
Napatingin ako sakanya.
"May registration fee sa pagsali sa ibang clubs?"
His eyes widen because of my question and he smiled.
He looks excited, baka akala niya sasali ako!
He just nodded and smiled. Such a positive person.
"To be honest, I really don't want to get involved in swimming again. I just did it because wala raw si Andrea that time, and mapilit sina Fuentabella," his just staring at me. "And I have no plans in swimming again."
"I understand, Meriedeth. But, sana."
"Ang positive niyong tao," I can't help it.
"We should look at the positive things in life."
"But being too positive is a bad thing. You'll expect too much and if doesn't meet your expectations, you'll end up blaming people."
"Then, we should accept the results of every action and move forward."
Wow.
"Una na ako, malapit ng magtime. See you around, Meriedeth," he tapped my shoulder and walked away.
Binati nila ako, I just replied with a nod. I just handed him my book.
"I saw you and Kuya Wesley talking sa hallway," nilingon ko si Eryx.
"He just handed a form."
"Sasali ka sa club?" tanong ni Shelanie.
"Nope."
I lowered the volume, so I can hear the people around me and also, kapag dadating na teacher namin.
