In The Stage Lights

Chapter 26

The next morning Thayne leaves to change and get ready for rehearsal. We meet up before walking together, both of us still slightly paranoid.

"Okay everyone! To really focus on who's doing what where, we are going to split the group. Ensemble you guys are going to go down the hall with me. Leads you guys will stay with Klem." Andy says once everyone gets there. Everyone nods and most of the ensemble excluding Thayne and Jon Rua make their way out of the rehearsal room.

"What about me and Cameron?" Jazzy asks, going to stand next to me.

"Choose who wants to do which in the morning you guys can switch in the afternoon. Just make sure to let the other one know of any huge changes so we won't have to keep catching them up." Andy says, getting his stuff together.

"I can go with the ensemble first," I say. Jazzy nods and Thayne, Jon, and I all walk down the hall to join the others, Andy following behind us.

"Okay everyone. We're going to run through the full thing. If there's anything we need to fix or change I'll stop everyone and we'll go from there. Take two minutes to stretch and warm up." Andy says, setting his bag down. After two minutes we get started and I can see Thayne looking over at me every few minutes.

"Is everything okay?" I ask as we take a small break during what would be The Story Of Tonight Reprise.

"Yeah why?"

"You kept like staring at me."

"I just wanted to make sure that you're okay. Yesterday was scary."

"I'm fine Thayne, but thank you." He smiles at me and we get ready for Stay Alive as neither of us were in Wait For It.

"Alright everyone, good job! We have just over an hour for lunch, Klem will be here instead of me to finish the show and hopefully run through it again. Cameron, don't forget to show Jazzy what we did, especially with the stools in The Story Of Tonight, and to go with the leads for the afternoon," I nod before walking out with Thayne for lunch. Jon Rua, Carleigh, and Ariana decide to come with us. I quickly ate my salad before saying goodbye and texting Jazzy to see if she was ready to work on everything we went over. She texts back almost immediately, saying she'd be back in about 5 minutes.

I quickly went over what Andy told us, trying to think of anything big he had changed. She comes in and we hug before she shows me the small changes Klem had made. I show her what Andy has changed as Oak and Daveed walk in.

"Yes girls! Get it!" I hear Oak jokingly say. We finish as the rest of the leads walk in and Jazzy waves before going with the ensemble.

"Hey guys! I hope you had a good lunch. We're going to do a quick review of what we already covered to make sure you guys remember and for Cameron's sake, then we'll move on. Klem said you guys ended in the first cabinet battle?" I see everyone nod and Andy smiles and tells us to get to our starting places.

"Alright let's take a small break. Everyone did really well. Cameron just watch the new markings in Helpless and Satisfied. I have a few small notes but let's finish first." Andy says, pausing everyone after the first cabinet battle. As I go to kiss Lin I hear Andy call for us to stop.

"Okay, we're going to change this a little. While kissing, you guys need to turn sideways, and make it last the full measures. I know it's a bit harder since you don't have the ensemble to listen to, but just count and you'll be fine. Let's take it from the top." I nod and move back upstage. After we finish Jazzy, Thayne, Ant, and I stay after to work on what we have learned. Mostly teaching Jazzy and I what had missed in the other room.

July 12th 2015

The past month and a half had passed quickly, Jazzy and I got into a rhythm to show each other what we had missed, we got everything set up at the Richard Rogers for opening night, and Thayne and I had gotten a bit closer.
