We're the God of Alchemy but we still have our own titles that separate us from one another. For one, I'm also the God of Secrets like how Rex is the God of Contracts also. Do you understand, Barbatos?
Those words rang inside Venti's ears. It's one of the times when Kojutsu [(YN)'s old name] had told him about how Archons work. How they manage over the people and how should he act like an Archon. Then again, he never acted as one. Regardless, Kojutsu still tried to discipline him over and over again.
"I'm not sure how he goes by now but... I do know where he lives," Venti started. His tone and expression all serious. Making both Aether and Jean go serious on edge since they rarely see Venti get serious and they saw the male this serious. He was not even this intense when curing Dvalin.
"He's an alchemist and he's one of the best in all of Teyvat and he might know how to get rid of all of these monsters." Jean is now visibly eager to know where this person is. With the monsters wreaking havoc amongst the citizens of Mondstadt, she has been trying to find ways on how to get rid of them and bring peace back once again. Not only that, merchants are now afraid to travel without at least two or three adventurers or knights escorting them. And prices have been risen through the roof, creating an economical crisis at the moment. A glass of wine from Angel's Share used to be fifty Mora and now it's double the price.
"But I'm not sure if he wants to help us or not so I thought I would go there by myself but with the monsters going around, I don't think I could get there in one piece. So I wanted Aether to go there with me," Venti finished. There wasn't any kind of reply followed. Letting the two males and two females envelop themselves in silence. If only Venti would go there, along with Aether, it would probably be fine. However, Jean wanted to go along. She couldn't let Venti do all of the work as she idles in the office and stress over it during patrol. However, she's not sure how long the journey will be and she doesn't want to leave all of the work to the knights.
"How long will the journey be?" Jean asked
"Huh? Well...if we're fast enough then we might be able to go there by at the end of the day." Jean hummed. Contemplating whether to join or not. Would a letter suffice in exchange for not joining the two of them?
"Jean! Do you want to come along with us!?" Paimon asked, noticing how hard she's been thinking.
"Me? I would like to go with you but I'm not sure if I should do it or not," Jean answered. Hesitance was evident in her voice.
"What about Kaeya?" Aether said "I think he wouldn't mind taking over you for a bit. And Lisa is here to do the reports." Paimon nodded. Agreeing with Aether.
"Jean's okay to come with, right Venti!?" The three glanced towards Venti. Their stare is a bit too forceful for the small male.
"Well... I think one more wouldn't hu---"
"Two. Two more wouldn't hurt."
All of the people inside the room glanced towards the door and saw Diluc. Leaning onto the door frame. "AaAaHhh! When did you get here, Master Diluc!?" Paimon shrieked. So were the other three, stubbed at how silent Diluc is. Though Aether and Paimon were less affected considering the nightly fights he does to protect Mondstadt.
"The monsters have been causing trouble for the winery and if there is someone that can help with my business then I would want to meet them as the owner of the establishment. If Jean can't persuade them then I can," Diluc said a bit too forcefully. Almost indirectly saying that he is not taking a 'no' for an answer. Jean looked at Venti, noticing how uncomfortable he is with Diluc's sudden appearance.
"Well... two more wouldn't hurt, I guess..." he said. Albeit a bit hesitant and unsure.
"Are you sure?" Aether asked and Venti nodded. Knowing how stubborn Diluc can be at times.
"When are we going? The sooner the better," Diluc said. Although he might sound rude he can't help it when his business is getting affected by the appearance of monsters.
"It's best we go tomorrow at early in the morning! His home is hidden in the caves of Stone Gate and there are traps inside the cave so I'm not sure whether we're going to have a safe journey," Venti explained. The others nodded at this information.
"Let's gather at the gates around dawn and should we bring something to appease this person?" Jean said. Pondering if she should bring money or not. If the person is not persuaded with money then what else could she offer? A land to himself, perhaps?
"Well... as long we follow with what he says then we should be safe." The others once again nodded.
