When Y/n and James made it to the garden, they sat under the very tree where this prank all started. After a few minutes of silence, James finally spoke.
"Sirius, he's an Animagus."
Y/n was confused and shocked at the same time. She wore a confused expression on her face while James continued explaining.
"In fact, Peter, Sirius and I are all Animagi. Peter takes the form of a rat, I turn into a stag, and Sirius... he takes the form of a black dog." James said, the last part almost coming out as a whisper.
"A black dog.... Like the one who fought Remus?"
James nodded slowly while scrunching up a few fallen leaves.
"Won't he get hurt?" Y/n questioned, a slight but of concern in her voice.
"They both will. But it happens all the time." James said looking up at her.
Y/n realised how handsome he was. His blue eyes were mesmerising, similar to Tom's but a lighter colour.
James too found her attractive, like everyone else did but he fancied someone else. Lily Evans.
"Right, well, we should get going to the great hall for dinner." he said, standing up and holding his hand out for her to take.

Once they made it to the door of the great hall, Y/n turned to him and asked,
"Are you sure they'll be alright?"
James smiled reassuringly before responding,
"I'm sure, your highness."
Y/n giggled at his response before saying goodbye and headed over to the Ravenclaw table.
She was about to head over to Matt and Cindy when she saw Amelia gesturing for her to come over. Y/n gave an apologising look to Matt and Cindy and went over to Amelia.
"Y/n...I'm so sorry I didn't tell Sirius not to do it. I should've backed you up like a real friend would." she apologised.
"And I'm sorry I didn't tell Amelia to say anything." Clara said.
Y/n giggled. "It's alright, James and I had it all sorted out."
"Oh, speaking of James, are you guys like...a thing?" Charlotte cut in.
"What?! No, of course not, we've only met each other a few days ago." Y/n protested.
"Delilah only talked to Lucius for a week and they're together." Charlotte said, turning her head to Delilah who was smiling to Lucius from across the room. Delilah immediately turned her head to Charlotte and began,
"What?! No that's absurd! We are absolutely NOT dating." she said, her cheeks a bit pink from that slight interaction with Lucius.
"Oh, Delilah, how is he? After that whole boggart thing?" Y/n asked.
"Well, when I went after him, I found him crying on the floor, in the middle of a corridor. So he talked to me about everything happening at home and now he's doing pretty well." Delilah said.
"Oh, that's good." Y/n replied.
"Hey, I think Matthew Coldwell is trying to grab your attention, Y/n," Clara said, looking at the black haired boy behind a few seats behind Y/n.
