James woke up in the hospital wing, feeling pain wherever he tried to move. He tried to recall the events of what happened which he remembered quickly. He let out a groan of agony, resting his arm on top of his eyes, disappointed in himself for not doing anything. He was brought out of his thoughts when there was a sudden clatter of rushed footsteps.

As the footsteps drew nearer and nearer, James could already tell who it was. He smiled to himself, happy that Y/n had visited him. The curtains opened to reveal a very worried Y/n. She quickly went over to James, sitting beside him.

"Oh darling...What happened?" Y/n asked, placing the back of her hand on his forehead, checking his temperature. James chuckled, he hadn't noticed it but Y/n was quite protective. Much like himself.

"I'm fine, Y/n." James assured her. Y/n narrowed her eyes, not believing a single word James said.

"Hmm...You being in the hospital wing tells me otherwise." Y/n replied, watching as James let out a light chuckle. "Anyway, what happened?" Y/n asked, concern filling her voice once again.

She was afraid that this might have to do with Tom.

Which it did.

Lucius was on his way back to the Slytherin common room after beating up James, following strict orders. Once he made it there, Tom looked at him with a smile, yet he was quite stern.

"Did you do it?" Tom asked, leaning back into his chair while the other death eaters turned their attention to Lucius.

"Yes, my Lord." Lucius replied.

You see, when the death eater meeting was beginning, and Y/n and James were still in the room, Tom noticed something oddly familiar about the atmosphere. The atmosphere was strange compared to the normal aura that the Slytherin common room contains. He didn't know why, but he knew Y/n was there. He was planning to ask her to come over to him, but then was distracted when he later found out James was there too.

He had no idea how he had managed to know this but he trusted his instincts and signalled Lucius to open the door. Lucius was quite confused by this action but did it anyway because he didn't want Tom to use the Cruciatus Curse on him again. Once he shut the door again, Tom gestured for him to come over, and so he did. Lucius leaned in just enough to hear what Tom was saying.

"Potter and Y/n were here. I want you to go after Potter, and do whatever you have to do to make him remember that he shouldn't be lurking around in places he doesn't belong. If the girl sees you, or if you even lay a finger on her, you know what's going to happen." Tom demanded in a strict voice, making the instructions clear.

Lucius nodded, going over to find James, making sure he was alone.

And that brings us to where we are now.

James didn't know what to tell Y/n because he didn't want her to worry and she might have a lot on her plate considering how she'd been zoning out lately.

"It's nothing you should worry about," James mocked her with a smirk which Y/n returned back.

"Well, that means it's definitely something I have to worry about." Y/n replied. And so the couple spent as much time as they could until the healer asked Y/n to leave because James needed rest.
