Hiraeth
(n.) A homesickness for a home to which you cannot return to, a home which maybe never was.
________________________________The mere sound of the name gave her chills. Of course, her mind raced with a million doubts and questions. What will her father think? What if he actually succeeds? What about my kingdom? Aren't I an Heiress? What will happen to the wizarding world?
Y/n wanted to refuse as much as she wanted but as she gazed into his eyes, it was full of plea. Full of desperation. He wanted her. He needed her. That alone was enough to drive all the thoughts away from her mind.
'It can't be that bad...' Y/n thought, staring into those pleading eyes as tears threatened to spill from them, afraid of what he'll do if he rejected her. The longer Y/n thought about it, the more the tension rose. Tom held tighter and tighter onto her hand, hoping for the answer he wanted.
The silence grew louder. The seconds felt like hours. Tom began to overthink. What would he do if she says no? Then what? Get rid of her? How? No, he cares too much about her. Why did he tell her?
Y/n let Tom's words play over and over, sinking deeper into thought within every word.
'I have James...' thought Y/n. 'If I do this, it wouldn't exactly be loyal.' Y/n thought and just as she was about to speak, Tom spoke to her.
"It doesn't have to be intimate or anything more than just friends." Tom announced in an attempt to convince her, as if reading her mind. Y/n let out a breath she didn't know she was holding.
But after she realised that she might've been silent for at least 2 or 3 minutes, she started thinking about her next words. Y/n felt her vision get blurry due to tears in her eyes. It was a lot to think about, especially in such a short amount of time. She had only met Tom a few months ago, and now this was happening? If Tom really succeeds in the future, then the future of the wizarding world and it's survival also relied on her.
Tom slowly and carefully caressed the back of Y/n's hand with his thumb, trying to calm her while tears were filling his own eyes. Tom had never cried before. He was always numb. He only ever felt anger or nothing at all. All those smiles and laughs were just a mask, hiding what he truly was.
But this time, he was afraid that Y/n would turn him down. That he might have to do this all on his own. That was his original plan but having Y/n in it was just so much better.
Y/n was about to reply, still quite unsure. Yet the idea of getting revenge on all those people who hurt her, who hurt them, felt so right. And before she could stop herself, she finally spoke.
"I'll think about it." Y/n said, feeling a tear trickle down her cheek. She knew this was wrong but she didn't want to upset Tom. It was like her whole world was revolving around him. And after all, the idea of being by Tom's side while they ruled, didn't sound so bad.
Tom let out a breath he didn't know he was holding in. He was glad he might not have to do all of this all alone. Instead he could do it with the girl he wanted to spend the rest of his life, protecting.

It had been a few days since Y/n had that encounter with Tom and all she could ever think about was what her future would be like now that it had made a drastic turn. She would sit around in class with her head in the clouds. She'd spend the rest of the day either walking around the school thinking or even just sit down without a word to her friends. Y/n couldn't tell her mother because she was afraid of what she might think of her. So there she was. Alone. Having no one to talk to other than Tom who she didn't want to see at the moment.
