"Don't forget you're human. It's okay to have a meltdown. Just don't unpack and live there. Cry it out. Then refocus on where you're headed."

________________________________Tom sighed, not knowing where to begin.
"You were under the influence of the Imperius curse." Tom explained, meeting eyes with Y/n.
"I-" She stammered, at a loss for words. "But who would do something like that?" Y/n asked, hoping for an answer. She looked up at him, her body suddenly feeling cold as the chills ran down her spine. Who in Hogwarts would cast one of the 3 Unforgivable Curses on her?
"That's what I'm trying to figure out," Tom sighed. He ran his hand through his hair as he leant back in the chair, man spreading with his arm around the couch. He looked over at Y/n, seeing Nagini go over to her, braiding her hair.
"Wha- Tom, who is she?" Y/n demanded, slapping her hand away on instinct. She wondered why she had never seen her around Hogwarts before, that's if, well, she even was a student.
"That's Nagini." Tom replied, watching as Y/n grew even more confused. Her eyebrows furrowed together as she looked between the cage and Nagini.
"But-" Y/n stammered but Nagini cut her off.
"I'm a Maledictus." Nagini finished. "Not such a waste for 500 Galleons huh?" Nagini chuckled, smirking.
Tom noticed Y/n's uncomfortableness and dismissed Nagini. "Nagini, just give us some space alright?" Tom said, watching as Nagini looked back and forth between the two, sending tension. She gave Tom one last glance before she turned into her snake form in front of Y/n, going back into her cage, she began to fall asleep.
Despite Tom's casualness, Y/n was in shock that Nagini was a maledictus. She stared with her mouth agape and her eyes wide. Her mouth struggling to utter out a single word.
"Erm..." She stammered, trying to change the subject, but failing to do so.
"Do you have any idea who would want to put the Imperius curse on you?" Tom asked after seeing Y/n's state of shock. He leaned forwards, fixing his attention on the girl.
The second her ears were met with this question, her mind raced, searching for a name, any name, but it could only think of one. The name of the person who had gone after her mother. The name at which the mention of scared her family all the way to France. But it couldn't be possible, right?
"No, not that I know of," she answered, her mouth afraid of even uttering the name.
Tom paused for a moment, regaining his breath. He studied the girl's features, and if he was correct, the expression layed on her face didn't exactly mean she was being truthful.
"Is there anything...you wish to tell me?" He asked once more, their eyes meeting. Just the sight of Y/n's eyes and the guilty look laid on her face could be read like a book. She knew who it could be. But what he could also tell, was that she didn't want to talk about it. They stared deep into each other's eyes, and Tom tilted his head slightly, not looking away.
She let out a deep breathe, her fingers fiddling as she looked down at her lap.
"No, Tom."
His eyebrows raised at this answer. He leant back into his chair, looking at Y/n's nervous figure.
"Very well, then," He finished, standing up to ease the tension. "Would you like a drink of any kind?" Tom asked, beginning to act casual in order not to startle her.
"Erm...a hot chocolate would be nice." Y/n replied, watching as a little mug contained with hot chocolate appeared in Tom's hand. As he did this, he sat down next to Y/n, slowly handing it over to her which Y/n replied with a small 'Thank you' and began sipping it, trying to process everything. But what was coming next, would take a lot more than hot chocolate to process.
