Chapter 38
Late Disclosures and Wistful Yearning

Nothing was better than waking up, feeling Blake warm body against mine and hearing the soft sound of his heartbeat as my head rested on his chest. I looked up at his face, and a small smile lit my lips, seeing him sleep peacefully.

I hugged him tighter, wishing that I could wake up like this every morning. But I knew this was the last time this ever happened.

I heard a familiar ring tone, and I groaned at the sound ruining my peaceful morning.

"Blake, your phone is ringing," I said but got no response from him.

After a few seconds, the ringing stopped, but I groaned again when my phone rang.

I looked at the caller ID to see Claire's name on the screen, and I grimaced at the idea of talking to her while I lied naked on top of her son. Anyways, I answered the phone and placed it against my ear.

"Addelyn, hey." She breathed out, almost as if she had been crying.

"Hey, Claire. Is everything alright?"

"No. Blake isn't picking up my calls."

"Don't worry. He's just asleep."

"No, he hasn't been responding to my calls for the past two weeks. I've been trying to give him some space, but the test results come out tomorrow, and I need to talk to him before that."

"What test results?" I asked, scrunching my face up in confusion.

"For the paternity test," she said, and I raised an eyebrow.

"Paternity test? What paternity test?" I asked with a frown, before glancing at Blake who was still asleep, unaware of this conversation.

"Didn't he tell you?" she asked. "Oh my god! I-I shouldn't have called you."

"No, no, no. Sorry. He told me, but we hadn't talked about it in a while. I just got confused for a second." I lied.

"Oh, great. That's it." She sighed a breath of relief. "Could you please ask him to talk to me? He'll listen to you."

"Yeah, of course."

"Thank y–"

"Wait, Claire! He was uncomfortable talking about it, so he didn't explain much," I said before taking a deep breath, preparing myself. "Did he get a girl pregnant?"

"What? No. That's impossible."

"Impossible?" I asked. "Is he infertile? Has he checked? Can he check at this age? Can it be treated?"

I mentally slapped myself for the anxiety developing in my head. It wasn't like I'd marry him and have his children... or even date of him... or sleep with him again.

"No, it's impossible because he's still a virgin." Clair interrupted my mental ramble.

"He's a what?" I asked before glancing at the naked boy lying next to me.

"He's a virg– Wait, do you know something that I don't know?" She asked and my mind went back to everything we did last night, making my body heat up.

"Of course not. He barely even looks at girls in that way," I said, trying to hold back my laughter. "Or boys or any other gender," I added.

"Good. It better stay that way until he's twenty."

"I'll make sure of that." I promised. "And about the paternity test, if he didn't get a girl pregnant, is this about his dad?"

She kept silent for a while before answering, "Yes. Blake's really angry about it."
