Shuichi flinched at the sudden mention of his name

Shuichi didnt listen after that, he was preoccupied worrying about ouma.
That is until he heard a soft-spoken voice "s-saihara-kun?" It was ouma. Shuichi looked up. Kokichi was trembling, his face was pale and he was visibly on the verge of tears. Saihara felt terrible "a-ah koki-Ouma-sama I'm sorry I'm making you cry.. a-ah you dont have to work with a freak like me i-i can do the project all my myself don't worry i can-" he was cut of by soft sniffles "i-I'm sorry saihara-kun! You c-cant do it by y-yourself its a-a 'get to know your partner project' we have to s-sketch each other a-and get to know them" shuichi swallowed the lump in his throat and pulled out a chair from the chair infront of him
"p-please sit Ouma-sama your trembling" kokichi nodded and sat. An awkward silence filled the small space in between them as shuichi scratched his wrist and looked away to not make eye contact "h-hey saihara-kun why is there writing and a white flower on your desk?" Kokichi broke the silence after collecting himself. Shuichi smiled "d-do you not know what this means?" Ouma shook his head "oh, it means people want me to die" kokichi's eyes shot wide open "w-what?! T-t-thats terrible!" Shuichi tilted his head "really? It happens at least once a month" he smiled wider but his eyes stung. Kokichi's eyes saddened "h-how does it n-not affect you? Do your f-friends know this is h-happening?" Kokichi seemed worried now "who said it didn't affect me? Also i have none" Shuichi smiled, softer now "w-what? W-what do you do at lunch?!" "Nothing"

"Ah ouma-sama we better start working on the assignment" kokichi looked like he was going to speak but just nodded instead and got to work.
For a second there you felt hope.
Never do that again.
