She cupped my face and tilted it enough to put it in front of hers. "Are you afraid of me?"

I shook my head. "No."

She raised her eyebrows. She knew I was lying and I didn't want to think about what she would do to me if she realized I was lying; I didn't want to find out. "Y... Yes," I said with difficulty.

A knowing smile crossed her lips. "Good. You should be."
