Chapter 10 The balcony

I thought that it would be easier for him to understand what I wrote, rather than using sign language, as he would probably misunderstand some of my words from being so sleepy and think that I kidnapped him or something.

Realization hit me, like a wave of cold water.

"Mega!" I yelled and pulled him into a hug. "Oh my goodness, how are you?! We thought you were dead! We have been trying to contact you, but you just disappeared!"

I let go of him and looked him in the eyes.

"We were worried about you Mega."

He just stood there in silence, looking down at the floor.

Boy, was he skinny.

"Are you alright?" I asked looking at his sad existence.

'I'm fine.' Mega signed.

Good thing I knew sign language.

I decided to change the topic.

"I didn't know you worked at a café."

'Now you know, idiot.'

"I was thinking about staying at a hotel for a night, but this place is much better!" he exclaimed, looking around. 

'Why did you come to Canada?' Mega quickly signed, ignoring what Zelk had said.

"I wanted to see you of course! You disappeared, and I wanted to make sure you were okay."

He looked confused, staring at me blankly.

He... Did he come all the way to Canada just to see me?

If I was okay?

Was I that obvious?

It was late.

I decided to forget everything and show my friend where he can sleep.

'I can show you your room.' I signed.

"Oh, I thought I would be sleeping on the couch," Zelk said.

I started climbing the stairs, signing for him to come too.

He followed me.

'This is my room,' I signed, 'and this is your room, and this is the bathroom.'

I led him into his room, where his bags were already awaiting him.

"Ooh you even took my bags upstairs, thank you," Zelk muttered.

Oof, good thing I cleaned yesterday, this place was a mess.

Convenient time too.

The room was nice, and the view out of the window was beautiful.

I stared out of it.

A tap on the shoulder.

'I have a small balcony,' Mega signed.

I followed him.

It was a small balcony, but the view was even better.
