They were expecting him to come, and he did. All of them, except Strange, were hidden from sight. Most were ready to fight, some were afraid.

Luna and Peter stood atop of a very high platform. They stared down while Thanos entered through a portal and a cloud of dust.

Luna and Peter exchanged a look through their masks. They watched Strange calmly make conversation with the large alien.

"Oh, yeah. You're much more of a Thanos." Strange commented. 

"I take it the Maw is dead." Thanos replied.

Strange nodded.

"This day extracts a heavy toll." Thanos sighed. "Still, he accomplished his mission."

"Well, you may regret that." Strange said in a threatening tone. "He brought you face to face with the master of the mystic guards."

"Where do you think he brought you?" Asked Thanos.

 "Let me guess... your home?" Strange looked around curiously.

"It was..." Thanos activated one of the stones on his gauntlet, which simulated the old appearance of his planet. "It was beautiful."

Strange forced his gaze to remain on Thanos to not be distracted.

 "Titan was like most planets. Too many mouths, and not enough to go around. And when we faced extinction, I offered a solution.." Thanos explained.

"Genocide?" Strange raised his eyebrows.

 "At random. Dispassionate; fair to rich and poor alike. They called me a madman... and what I predicted came to pass." Thanos continued. The simulation shut off, and the planet was once more in ruins.

"Congratulations, you're a prophet." Strange remarked.

 "I'm a survivor." Thanos corrected.

"Who wants to murder trillions."

"With all six stones, I can simply snap my fingers..." Thanos demonstrated by snapping his hand opposite of the one with the gauntlet. "...and they would all cease to exist. I call that...mercy."

"Then what?" Strange stood up. 

"I finally rest, and watch the sun rise on a grateful universe. The hardest choices require the strongest wills." Thanos replied.

"I think you'll find..." Strange summoned his mandalas, and entered a fighting pose. "Our wills are equal... to yours."

"Our?" Thanos questioned. Suddenly, there was a loud crash as Tony crushed Thanos with a pillar of wreckage. "Piece of cake, Quill." Said Tony.

"Yeah, if your goal was to piss him off!" Responded the man. He put on his mask, and made his way forward.

Unexpectedly, the pillar exploded in a huge purple light, and Thanos angrily emerged from beneath it. He sent an angry storm of what appeared to be bats in Tony's direction.

While he was distracted, Peter shot a web at the alien's eye. Luna gathered the wreckage in the air, then threw multiple broken pieces of ground at Thanos. 

Everyone was striking left, right, and center with every ounce of power they could spare. Quill managed to place a shock bomb on Thanos' back, and chanted while he fell in through Strange's portal.

"Magic!" Peter shouted as he jumped through a portal, then in through another. "More magic!" He punched Thanos. "Magic with a kick!"

Luna made her way in through another portal, then kicked her foot right into Thanos' neck. "I don't understand why everyone is so scared of a deformed purple dinosaur." She commented. The angered Thanos reached for her, but Peter pulled her in through another Portal.
