Not It

It was ruined. All of their hard work. Harry was still in disbelief. How could this have happened?

He stared at the garments he spent months designing and tailoring torn to shreds. The clothe slashed at with scissors. The buttons ripped off. Muddy footprints on the gowns.

He sat on the floor going through the whole chest of costumes hoping to find just one piece still intact. It was all destroyed. Someone took their time and made sure every once of his hard work had gone to waste.

The artwork was in shambles too. All of the carefully crafted scenery and props looked like they had met the hands of a scorned lover.

Olivia, Niall, and Harry were there when Lottie unlocked the prop room to set up. They had spent the morning going over their lines and discussing what needed to happen today. The lighting and staging crew came in shortly after and they decided to all help them get started.

She was the only one with a key to the prop room. She went to unlock the door and it had already been unlocked. The room looked like a tornado went through it. Everything was destroyed. Lottie screamed a blood-curdling scream that snapped Harry back into reality. This had really happened. Someone broke into the room last night and trashed it all.

Niall comforted Lottie while Olivia just started calling everyone she thought she should. She started with Lottie's parents.

The Tomlinson's were already on their way to Louis' game so they rushed in to comfort their daughter. Harry couldn't help but be jealous as they comforted her. He wished someone would hold him too.

Her dad called the principal and before he knew it the police were there to question everyone.

Harry didn't move from his spot as people filtered in and out. The cast and crew showed up as time went on waiting for direction. Would it even be possible to put on the show?

Soon, Diana showed up. She hugged Olivia before coming over to greet Harry. Harry was relieved to see her as she bent down to his level. "It's terrible." He told her, unable to let go of her dress in his hands. "Who could do something like this?"

"I...I don't know." She mumbled.

Harry noticed the principles slick black shoes walking over to Lottie. "I'm sorry Mrs. Tomlinson. We'll send the cast home and deliver the news to the students and parents. I'm afraid there's not much we can do with the status of things." He talked to her the way a computer would.

"Who did this?" She yelled. "Tell me who did it!"

Diana put her hands over her mouth as she listened to the grief in her voice. Harry put his hand on hers. "I'm sorry. I really wanted to hear you sing tonight. Especially, in this dress." He swallowed hard.

Harry watched a tear fall from her cheek.

Another hour had passed and the two of them hadn't moved from their spot. Anna walked in and she met Diana's gaze for a moment before searching the room for Lottie. When she saw her, her shoulders fell and she ran to wrap her in her arms. "I just got the news. I'm so sorry babe." She stroked her hair and for the first time since it happened, Lottie stopped shaking.

Harry finally got up from his seat. He realized his friends were going to need him much more than he would need them. He reached out a hand to help Diana up as well.

Olivia and Niall came over to them. "So it looks like the musical isn't going to happen." She announced.

"We heard," Harry told her. "I'm sorry guys. You worked so hard it's not right." He shook his head.

"So did you, H." She pulled him into a hug and God, did he need it. He finally let out a breath he'd been holding.

Jordan approached them with a less than satisfied grin. "Crazy, what's going on." He started casually. "Can you believe someone just broke in and did all of this?" He asked them. "I kind of don't feel safe."
