Harry's first week went exceptionally well. His classes have been great. He loved all his teachers this year.

He's been forced to make some new friends and talk to new people now that his friends all have different classes except for fourth-period history with Niall and Olivia, and seventh-period study hall with Zayn and Liam.

Harry decided this was the year to branch out. He needed to try something new now that he cultivated his popularity. He felt like he was the only person in his class without a career path yet. He was creative and personable, but he had no real idea what to do with any of that.

A boy in his algebra class invited him to the first meeting of the school newspaper. He was excited at the possibility of finding himself.

He never went out for things as a freshman or sophomore. He was too concerned with what everyone thought of him.

Well, not anymore. People could take him or leave him.

Harry jogged to his locker Monday morning after sleeping in a little too much. His friends wore him out over the weekend and when Monday morning rolled around he was vastly unprepared to be the model student he was trying to prove that he was.

Where was Olivia with his coffee? Harry stuffed his belongings into his locker quickly so he would have time to go find her.

This was the first day since school started that there wasn't a note in his locker from Louis. Good. Maybe Louis had finally moved on.

Someone approached him with an extended arm that was holding his coffee order. His hair was wet again and he looked way too cheery for a Monday morning.

"Thanks." Harry took the coffee skeptically. He took a sip and suddenly felt an overwhelming sense of peace.

"Think you might have a bit of a problem, love." He teased the curly-haired boy about his coffee addiction.

"Hey, it's not my fault all my friends are enablers." Harry took another sip and with every sip, his mood got better and better.

Louis pulled a folded note from his pocket. It gave Harry butterflies to have him give him the notes in person. "I wouldn't read that one in public. It's not some of my cleaner work."

Harry felt his face getting warmer and he hated what this boy could do to him. "When are you going to give it a rest?" Harry shook his head and with it his curls.

Louis grabbed a hand full of hair. "Oh, angel,"
He whispered into his cheek "You know I don't need a rest. I've got really good stamina after all."

Harry scoffed uncomfortably. How could he talk to him like that at school?

"I mean you know. You've seen my practices." He put space between them but still held the boy by his hair. He ran his fingers through the curls until his hand was free again. "Am I going to see you there again after school today?"

"Can't." Harry declined his suitor. "I'm going to check out the school paper meeting after school."

Louis laughed like he thought it was a joke. "You? School paper?"

Harry crossed his arms at the boy.

"That's so boring. You're really going there instead?"
He made Harry feel stupid for wanting to do something different.

"What's the big deal? It's just a stupid practice. You guys are going to be fine. Niall and Anna will probably still be there."

Louis furrowed his eyebrows and bit his bottom lip. It was like he expected Harry to be at every single practice and game. Well, they weren't dating. He could go wherever he wanted.

"Yeah. Right. Have fun, Harold." His tone was sarcastic and cruel as he stormed off.

Harry had no idea what his problem was. Lately, it seemed like there was always a problem between them.

******

He hated to admit it. Louis was right. This was incredibly boring.

He listened to the cute boy from algebra groan on and on about focusing their premier issue on the parking issue the school faces.

Harry never got to share a single one of his ideas. He felt like his talents were wasted here.

When the meeting was over the cute boy met up with him. "What did you think? You think you'll join?"

"Honestly, probably not." Harry was honest and he could see the boys face drop.

"I want to be apart of something. I just haven't found it yet." He opened up.

"I'm sure you'll find something. After all, you can't just be a pretty face." Harry knew that was supposed to be a compliment but it didn't feel like one.

"I gotta run. See you around Harry." He took off and suddenly Harry was alone.

The school seemed bigger when the halls were empty. He walked the halls to see what else was going on and maybe find inspiration. He passed a few rooms where students were studying. Every other club seemed to be out for the day.

He passed a room that was cracked open. He heard a woman speaking very loudly. He peaked through the door to find the girl from the diner delivering a heartfelt monologue. She was a different person.

The drama room. Of course. He watched as a group of kids sat in a circle and listened to her pour her heart out into the scene. She was uncommonly talented. Harry forgot he was watching her performance he was so submerged into her reality.

She finished the scene and the whole room erupted into applause. Harry wanted to join them but he thought it might be creepy.

Harry realized they were all collecting their stuff and heading for the door.

He took ten steps back and waited for her to leave the room. Then he gracefully bumped into the girl.

"Oh hey. Diana right?" He greeted her.

"Uh, yeah. Hi."

"I'm Harry. We met the other day at the diner. I'm so sorry for my friends." He started to explain why his friends were such lunatics but nothing came to mind.

"Yeah. I remember." She looked uncomfortable. "I should probably get going."

"Oh. I- I'm sorry if I did something wrong..." Harry began to apologize when Lottie Tomlinson left the drama room.

"It's fine." She whispered. "I got to go." She said urgently as she apologized with her eyes.

"Hey, Harry." Lottie greeted him. Lottie and Harry had a strange relationship. He was never sure how she felt about him as long as he'd been friends with her brother.

Harry forgot Lottie's thing was drama club. She was the sophomore class' notorious mean girl. But Harry didn't blame her for that. That was just the Tomlinson blood in her.

"You got a new friend?" She asked as she reapplied her lipgloss. Everything with this family was a power move.

"Not really, no. Is she a new friend of yours?" Harry asked in return.

Lottie had a peculiar smile as she returned her lipgloss to her bag. "Not really, no."

Harry decided not to read into the weird sister's attitude. "Have a good one Lottie."

"You too Harold."
