Willow disappeared in a cloud of smoke, leaving the four in complete silence. They all stood in shock at what they'd witnessed. The silence finally broke when Xander audibly began throwing up, shaking them all out of their trance.

James didn't say a word, he just turned around and began running in the opposite direction. Buffy noticed and began sprinting behind him, followed closely by Anya and, a very disturbed, Xander.

"I think I'm gonna be sick." Xander announced after a while, and they all stopped.

"Again?" Anya asked.

"Xander, we don't have time." Buffy told him.

"I know, it's just...what happened back there, the sounds of it. The smell." Xander explained, panting.

"I know." Buffy replied.

"Willow did that." Xander said.

"No she didn't." James told him sternly. They all looked at him. "That's not Willow, that's evil. The Willow we know has been buried deep within what's there now, and stopping her is the only conceivable goal we can hope to achieve right now before she does something worse than back there."

"That's why we have to keep moving." Buffy continued on, putting her hand on Xander's shoulder, "You heard what she said, 'One down.'" They all begin walking at a decent pace, keen to continue moving.

"So we're talking about 'two to go,' right? Jonathan and what's-his-face, the other guy?" Anya asked, catching on.

"Andrew. They're sitting at county jail without a clue Willow's coming." Buffy replied.

"You don't think she's gonna kill them too? She wouldn't, it doesn't make sense." Xander said.

"I think sense went out the window when she skinned Warren." James responded.

"Willow's got an addictive personality, and she just tasted blood. She could be there already." Buffy told Xander.

"No she couldn't. A witch at her level, she can only go airborne." Anya said, stopping. The other three do the same and look at her carefully. "It's a thing. More flashy, impresses the locals, but it does take longer."

"Longer than what?" Xander asked.

"Teleporting." Anya clarified, disappearing in a swirl of magic before them.

"Right, vengeance demon. Well, at least she'll get there first." Xander said, sarcastically.

Buffy and Xander continued talking as they kept moving, but James wasn't listening. He was lost in thought about the whole situation, about Willow. The thought had crossed his mind about having to kill her, should things go too far, but he pushed it out as quickly as he could.

"...car." Buffy finished, as they all approached Xander's car, which had been completely totalled.

"Willow." Xander cursed.

"I guess she wants to finish the job without us tagging along." Buffy figured, turning to James. "Meet me at the jail, look after Xander."

"Got it." James replied, looking up at Xander.

"Sure, how are you gonna-?" Xander began to ask her. Buffy suddenly burst into a full-on sprint, leaping over the car and fading into the darkness of the forest.

"Okay then, we'll just...catch up. She's only my best friend, you know. No big deal, just..." Xander called after her, he then slammed his fist down on the lid of the car, "...glad I could help."

"We'll get there quick, I have a plan." James told him.

James sprinted into the street, spotting the police station. Xander pointed, "There it is, you can put me down now."
