Opening his eyes, James looked around the room, still half asleep. Noticing his surroundings, he seemed puzzled, searching his brain for an answer as to how he got here, his memory of passing out and before still a little fuzzy.
He suddenly felt movement next to him in the bed and turned to find a sleeping girl next to him. He leapt out of the bed in panic and began to ready himself for a fight. As he stood up, he looked to his right and spotted another girl sleeping, this particular girl seeming to jog his memory as everything came flooding back to him.
He remembered flipping out, almost cutting his own wrist, and then passing out. "A great way to introduce myself." James thought to himself. He took a look around the room silently, observing Buffy's side of the room. He took note of her CD collection and what she enjoyed listening to.
Moving over to Willow's side of the room, he bent down to take a look at her bookshelf. Many of her books were on the subject of Witchcraft and spells, causing James to furrow his eyebrows in confusion.
"Enjoying a snoop around?" Buffy asked, now standing up on her side of the room.
James turned around and looked at Buffy, she was wearing a t-shirt and shorts having just gotten out of bed, he raised one eyebrow before pointing at Buffy's CD's, "There isn't enough Beatles in your CD collection."
Buffy still stands, her demeanour not changing from serious, "I'll keep that in mind, but first off, I'd like to know just who you are."
James stood up fully and turned towards Buffy, "James McDonald, all the way from Sunvalley, Scotland." he stuck out his hand, smiling warmly.
"Buffy Summers, all the way from Sunnydale." Buffy returned, shaking his hand as she began to let her guard down slightly.
James laughed at her remark lightly, "Nice to meet you, Buffy. Thanks for all the hospitality."
"It wasn't any of us that looked after you, it was Willow." Buffy said, gesturing towards the sleeping redhead.
James looked at her and couldn't help but smile, "She had this weird effect on me, like when I heard her voice it just calmed me down completely. Oh, that's another thing, sorry for the little outburst, I will admit I was exhausted and kind of heavily depressed."
"Don't worry about it, I'm just glad the first 'guy slayer' didn't hurt himself." Buffy replied, patting James on the back playfully.
At that moment, Willow felt herself wake up to voices, once she figured out who the voices were, she decided to pretend that she was still asleep to hear what they were saying.
"So, spells and stuff," James gestured towards Willow's books, "are you going to tell me they're real as well?"
"Believe it or not, Willow's actually a witch of sorts. She's been practising for a while now." Buffy clarified.
"I thought witches were supposed to be old and ugly, Willow's the exact opposite." James said, nonchalantly, making Willow blush as she still had her eyes closed.
"There's a lot you still need to learn about." Buffy said, turning to get some clothes out of her closet.
Willow finally faked that she was just waking up, sitting up in the bed slowly and looking at James, and then Buffy, smiling.
"Oh, morning Will, this is James by the way, you met him yesterday." Buffy said, turning around after hearing Willow get up. She then moved over to the closet on her side of the room while the two got acquainted.
"Hi, let's pretend like we're just meeting now and forget yesterday." James said, sticking out his hand for yet another handshake. "I've heard you were very kind to offer me your bed, I hope I wasn't too much of a bother."
