"This isn't goodbye."
"Never."
"I'll see you on the other side?"
"Always."

Episode VII: The First Evil
Sunnydale, 2003
"How long?" James asked, his impatience getting the better of him as he stared out the front window from the rear middle seat.
"Fifteen minutes." Willow replied, watching the pick-up truck in front of them moving suspiciously slowly compared to just a few seconds earlier.
"Is it just me or is that truck-?" Faith began to ask, sitting up in the passenger seat.
"-slowing down." James finished, as they were all focused on it's movement. The passenger door of the truck opened and a body was thrown out onto the road. Willow slammed on the breaks, a few meters from where the body was.
"Jesus." Faith said to herself. Willow quickly jumped out of the car, running over to where the body lay.
"Is she still alive?" James asked, stepping out of the car. He ran past Willow, who was checking the girl's pulse, to watch as the pick-up truck sped off into the distance. "Whoever was in that truck knew we would see it, and who else would be heading into Sunnydale with all this mess going down?"
"Are you okay? Can you hear me?" Willow questioned the girl, rolling her over. "Can you talk?"
"Potential?" James inquired, standing over Willow and the unconscious girl.
"I don't know." Willow replied, looking over to where Faith was approaching the two. "This girl's bleeding badly. We have to get her to the hospital."
"Yep, guess I'm back in Sunnydale." Faith quipped, picking up the girl. She carried her to the back seat and lay her down.
"Am I sitting on your lap?" James asked Faith, noticing the lack of room where he was once sat.
"Don't get any funny ideas, pal." Faith responded, opening the passenger door to get in.

"You sure she's one of us? She don't look like much now. Not a Potential Slayer, I mean." Faith observed, as the three of them watched on through a glass window as surgeons operated on the girl.
"Like I said, I don't know. Seems to fit though." Willow said.
"Pushed out of a moving vehicle after being knocked unconscious? I don't see a normal person coming out of that still alive." James added, his arms folded tensely.
"We'll know more when she regains consciousness." Willow replied, her eyes glued to the surgeons. They couldn't even see the girl because of how many were in there, crowded around the bed.
"If she regains consciousness." Faith scoffed, "Girl's been gutted like a catfish."
James looked at her disapprovingly, "Have faith, Faith." James' face then changed almost instantly into a smirk.
Faith seemed less than amused, turning to face Willow instead. "Something's killing girls all over the world, trying to end the Slayer line. Thing like that, figure I might get a heads up." Faith told her, with a hint of betrayal evident in her tone.
Willow dropped her hands to her sides, shaking her head, "Faith..."
"Guess it doesn't really matter as long as you got the true Slayer intact." Faith continued, throwing up her hands.
