"Agents, it is vital that you kill this beast before it has a chance to-"

"We're aware of the mission, soldier."

"You don't have to be so rude to him, he's your friend."

"Yeah... in another life."

Episode IX: Quor'toth

Quor'toth, 2003 (Earth Year)

James felt himself land on the ground, a cold shiver going down his spine as the hellish sounds he once heard through the portal started to appear all around him, although distant. He looked around in search of either Marcie or Doyle but to no avail.

"Guys?!" he called out, searching the rocky wasteland. The sky was completely grey, with the sun completely black, although still emanating some form of light. Following his shout, a shriek of something inhuman came from afar, and James thought it best to perhaps find the others more quietly.

He marked the spot where he had landed with a flashlight he had brought with him. He turned it on so it shined in the sky, although not too bright as to not bring any demons towards it.

It was almost like a desert, the wasteland, full of crags and caves, where any of them could have entered. James approached one such cave, and decided to venture down after taking one last look around him to make sure they weren't off in the distance somewhere.

Entering the cave, the darkness began to creep all around James the further he went. He pulled out a lighter from his back pocket which he'd brought along for such an occasion. Turning it on proved to be a bad idea, as a flock of what seemed like bats all started to fly down from the roof of the cave, surrounding James.

"Christ!" he exclaimed with shock, shrinking down so that the bats would hopefully fly away without attacking him. As he flicked the lighter off, he caught a closer look at the bats and found that they had faces like gargoyles. It unnerved James incredibly, so he stayed curled in a ball until the flapping of wings ceased.

Marcie awoke in a jungle, almost as if she had been asleep. The leaves surrounding her were not a luscious green but instead a pale blue. As she sat up, she found her head was resting on a rock, which she must have hit her head on when she landed. She stood up, disorientated, and began to look around her surroundings, in search of either Doyle or James.

A rustling came from the bushes next to her, and she began to back up, taking a fighting stance. Emerging from the blue bush was a small creature, almost like a turtle, with spikes on it's shell, but it seemed harmless.

"Eep." it said, almost timidly, which caused Marcie to let her guard down slightly.

"Hi there, little fella." she spoke to it gently.

The tiny turtle-creature suddenly unhinged it's jaw to grow about ten times it's own height, and it began to slowly approach Marcie. It's miniscule legs only causing it to move at a turtle's pace, but it's open mouth was what really made Marcie decide that sticking around was a bad idea.

She ran off into the forest, far away from the creature and deep into unfamiliar territory. She couldn't seem to find the edge of the jungle, no matter which way she ran.

"Hello?!" she yelled, waiting to see if there was any response from familiar voices, but nothing came. She looked around hopelessly, spotting another small turtle creature, this time with a family of other small turtles behind it. "Not again."
