"She's in the back! This way!" Xander shouted to the two paramedics as he led them through to where Buffy lay.

"She was shot?" one of them asked.

"Yeah, in the chest."

"Accidental?" the other spoke up.

"No no, it was a... He was trying to kill her." Xander explained roughly. They reach Buffy and James, who was kneeling next to her whispering comforting things into her ear. He moved out the way when he saw the paramedics, allowing them to work.

"Pulse is one hundred and weak. Lung sounds are wet." the paramedic said to his co-worker.

"What does that mean? Is she going to-" Xander butted in worriedly.

"You need to stand back, okay? If you want us to help her out, we need some space." the other medic said, turning briefly to face Xander.

"Xander, Buffy will make it through this." James said to him, pushing him away from the medics lightly. Xander just looked on in horror, clearly not believing James at all.

"We need to get her to the hospital, the bullet is lodged within her and she needs immediate surgery." one medic said, as his partner ran back to the ambulance.

"Oh, Jesus." Xander muttered, putting his hand over his mouth. The other medic reappears with a stretcher and the two paramedics place Buffy onto it, wheeling her through to the front yard. One of the paramedics ran to the ambulance and spoke into his walkie-talkie, alerting the hospital of their upcoming arrival. "Come on, Buff, hang on. We're going to get you to the hospital." Xander said to her as the other medic wheeled her toward the ambulance.

James came around the side of the house and spotted a bloody and shaken Willow, "Willow?"

Xander heard him and turned around, "Willow, god, are you okay?"

"How did this happen?" she calmly asked, almost as if she was in shock.

"Warren, he had a gun." Xander said.

"Warren." Willow repeated, her face turning to one of blind rage for just a split second before returning to the blank expression she originally wore. This unnerved James, who could tell something else was up.

"It went down too fast, I couldn't stop him." Xander told her.

"Don't blame yourself, Xander. No one could've stopped him." James said, reassuring him.

Willow just walked off fast, disinterested in the conversation. "Hey! Will!" Xander shouted after her but she never turned around.

"Sir, we have to go, are you coming with us or not?" the paramedic asked as Buffy was being placed in the back of the ambulance.

"Go after Will, make sure she's okay." Xander said quickly to James and then ran over into the back of the ambulance.

James nodded his head and ran down the street where Willow was pacing quickly. "Willow!" he shouted, but she didn't acknowledge him. James reached her and grabbed her shoulder, "Willow, it's oka-"

Willow turned suddenly and grabbed James by the neck, "Back off." she said sternly and then continued walking. James was shocked, she had managed to stop him, trumping his slayer strength with little to no strain.

"What the hell is going on here? Willow, I don't know exactly what you saw back there but I can assure you that Buffy will make it out of this." James said, continuing to pursue Willow.

"Prohibere." Willow said, waving her hand which emanated a strange glow. James tried to move his feet but they were glued to the ground.

"Willow." James exclaimed, "You're using magic again?"
