The Sacrifice

Katerina - 1

Elena and I walk up the the boarding house. Damon called us, well he called me. Stefan called Elena. Apparently we had to be there ASAP. We knock on the door and Damon opens it.

"Hello, girls" He says with a smile. "Hello" I reply as Elena takes a deep breath.
"Is Stefan here? He called. He said it was important."

Damon opens the door wider. "Right this way." I raise an eyebrow as Damon. "What's this about?" I ask as Elena goes in deeper.

Damon motions a hand forward and I give him a frown as I walk to Elenas side, we both turned to see Rose, the vampire who kidnapped Elena and almost gave her away, standing there with her cropped hair and a sleeved shirt.

"You"

I'm surprised to see rose here. But they say she has information about the people who want Elena so we have to listen.

"Okay, you have to understand I only know what I've picked up over the years and I don't know what's true and what's not true. It's the problem with all this vampire crap but Klaus, I know he's real." she explains, well rambles with her hands as she paces around the room.

"Who is he?" Elena asks with crossed arms. We both sit on the couch as Rose explains everything

"He's one of the originals, he's a legend." Damon states.

"From the first generation of vampires." Stefan adds.

"Like Elijah?" Elena questions. So that's the name of the vampire that wanted my sister.

Rose shakes her head. "No. Elijah was the Easter bunny compared to Klaus. He's a foot soldier. Klaus is the real deal." She counters.

"Klaus is known to be the oldest." Stefan says from his chair.

"Okay, so you're saying that the oldest vampire in the history of time is coming after my sister?" I question looking between all three of them with a raised brow.

"Yes."

"No."

Lovely.

Rose looks at me surprised. "Your her sister?" She asks in shock. I nod. "Yes I am" Rose nods, processing this.

"If I were you I'd keep that news to your self" I raise an eyebrow in confusion but nod. "What they're saying is, I mean if what she's saying is true..." Damon starts off but Rose cuts him off.

"Which it is"

Damon gives her a small side glare. "And you're not saying it so I don't kill you."

"Which I'm not." Rose replies before Damon looks back at us. "Then we're looking at a solid maybe."

Stefan looks over to us and stands up. "Look, Elijah's dead, right? So no one else even knows that you exist." He says before siting on Elenas free side.

Oh please, when is anything ever that easy? If Rose was able to find Elena so will every other vampire on the run from Klaus or Elijah.

"Not that you know of." Rose points out.

"That's not helping." Damon and I tell her and she looks at us with exasperation.

"Look, I've never even met anyone who's laid eyes on him. I mean, we're talking centuries of truth mixed with fiction. We don't know if he's real. For all we know he could just be some sort of stupid bed time story" Stefan says, trying to look on the brighter side of this situation.

If there even is one. What if it is true? I know for sure I'm not taking any chances.

Rose puts her hands on her hips. "He's real and he doesn't give up. If he wants something, he gets it. If you're not afraid of Klaus, then you're an idiot." She reprimands.

Damon glares at her. "Alright, we're shaking. You made your point." He says sarcastically.
Elena and I exchange glances before getting up and Stefan raises his head at us confused.

"Where are you going?" He asks as I grab my bag and throw the shoulder strap on my shoulder.

"School. We're late"

Stefan scrambled up. "Let me grab my stuff, I'll go with you-"

Elena cuts him off. "It's okay, We know where it is." She says before making her Way to the door. I give Stefan a sympathetic shrug and follow after Elena.

Elena, Caroline and I make our path to the old fells church where Katherine awaits.
The plan was that Caroline would open the door, and Elena and I would try to get as much information from her about Klaus as possible.

"Tell everyone I wasn't feeling well and I went home from school." Elena tells Caroline as she trudges a big heavy bag. "And Tell them I went to duke or something" I tell caroline as we make our way to old fells church.

"I can't believe I'm agreeing to this. I'm a terrible liar." Caroline mutters.

"And keep Stefan busy. I don't want him to know what we're up to." I add.

"I'm even worse at duplicity and you know this." Caroline says in annoyance.

"You managed to keep me occupied when Katherine paid Stefan a visit." Elena comments as we reach the church.

"Yeah, because she threatened me. Not that I'm saying that you should use that as a tactic, it's...Stefan's gonna see right through me." Caroline complains.

Elena turns to face her. "Caroline, as our friend, do you promise or not?"
Caroline grumbles. "You had to break out the girlfriend code. Okay. I promise."

I smile brightly as my blonde best friend.  "Okay."

Elena and I turn and start making our way to the entrance of the tomb.
"Why don't you want Stefan to know?" Caroline asks, curious.

"Because he would never be okay with us doing this." I mumble as we walk down the steps leading to the tomb.

Caroline sighs. "Are you sure you want to do this?"
Elena nods. "Yes, I'm sure. She's the only one who knows the truth about Klaus. The only one who can tell me how to stop him."

"But you're asking for the truth from someone who's probably never given it. Are you sure about this?" Caroline expresses in worry. I mean she has a point, but that's nothing blood won't solve.

"Yeah. We can't just sit back and wait. We have to know, Caroline. Please." I plead with her.
Caroline sighs, and despite every bone in her body telling her not to, goes towards the door, she removes the stone door and places it aside.

"Katherine?" I call out into the dark tunnel, my voice echoing against the walls.
Elena looked over at Caroline.

"we'll be okay from here."

A small shifting noise from inside the tomb makes us all turn to look at the entrance where Katherine appears, looking pale and in a zombie state. She stops at the entrace, leaning against the tomb wall looking straight at us.

"Hello girls"

Quick note, ok so Katerina will be the last episode I publish in a while. Don't worry, this is mainly because in my Teen Wolf rewrite I'm like 5 episodes away from finishing season 1, so I mainly want to focus on that for a while.

But I couldn't leave you guys without a new chapter this January, the next parts will be up in a while.
