Tomorrow is the towns Masquerade ball. Which meant that today was all about decorating. Yay.

"I can't believe this." Bonnie says in desbelif when Elena and I tell her everything that had happened.

Elena nods "It's a lot, I know. Katherine's doing everything that she can to drive me and Stefan apart and Caroline just got trapped in the middle."

We sit down on a bench so we can continue talking.

"It's not that you and Stefan are pretending to fight. It's that I didn't even know you guys were fighting at all."

She turned her head to look at me, "And you, I didn't even know that you almost died!"

I sighed as I looked her in the eye "I'm sorry, we don't want to keep things from you but you've made it pretty clear where you stand with the whole vampire thing."

"So that makes me the odd man out."

Elena shakes her head "No - no, Bonnie, of course not."

"I know where I stand. And I know where you both stand. But where do we stand?"

"You're our best friend, Bonnie. We didn't mean to let this craziness with Caroline get in the way of that. But, she needs you too." I said trying to plea with her.

She shook her head softly "Not yet, I just...she's a vampire, I can't. I think we should get back."

Bonnie gets up and leaves without another word. I sighed and stood up, "Come on, we should get going"

Elena and I were sorting out masks when we noticed that Bonnie and Stefan were talking.

Which is weird considering she hates vampires.

I jump a little startled when Damon appeared next to us, "Damon, what are you doing here?" I question curious.

"Looking for my baby bro. Speaking of, would you two tell yours to stop following me around?"

Elena frowned. "What's going on?"

"Ask eager beaver."

"Jeremy, what is he making you do?" I ask Jeremy who had walked in as Damon left.

"He's not making me do anything, Damon and I..."

Elena shakes her head, "Uh, no. No way. No, no, no, no. There is no "Damon and you". There's Damon and whoever Damon is using, and those people, they end up dead. Whatever is going on Jeremy, I want you to stay out of it." Elena orders.

"I don't really care what you want, Elena. It's because of you that I'm in this mess in the first place, so I'm sorry, but you really don't get to tell me what I'm gonna do."

I look after Jeremy in surprise. Wow, what the hell is with that atittued.

I looked at Elena and cocked an eyebrow, "Is it me, or do I feel like they're planning something without us?"

She sighed and looked out the window. "Your not the only one"

Elena and I stepped aside from the preporations and texted Stefan.

"Hey, what are you doing? You shouldn't be calling me."

"I know, but Ariel and I have no idea what's happening. Damon's got Jeremy into something and you've got Bonnie with you and we're sorting stupid masquerade masks for Mrs. Lockwood." Elena explains.

"Alright, it's okay. Hold on."
Stefan quickly explained everything and we couldn't help just yet till they had some lead. Which wasn't now, I wish they had a lead already because I am pulling hairs just sitting here doing nothing.

"So, where's Caroline? This is like her thing. I can't believe she's not here." Matt says shocked as we sort through costumes and masks. "She had something else to do." I respond.

"Is she seeing someone?" I glance up at him.

"Matt, come on. No, she's not."

Both Stefan and Elena walk in with a box of masks. I glance at them when they're phone rings.

"Anyone seen Mason?" Tyler asked as he entered the room. "He, uh, he took off. He said he wasn't sure when he'd be back." Stefan responded. Tyler shook his head confused "So weird." He mutters walking out.

I try walking with them but Stefan shakes his head and walks away. Elena shrugs lightly and follows after him.

I throw the costume rag in the box with furry. I can't believe he's not letting me help just because of what happened.

"I'll be right back." I inform Matt and rush off. No way in hell are they keeping me in the dark.

What's going on?" I ask when I catch up to them at the old well. "You shouldn't be here." Stefan scolds as he looks over the ledge.

"Yeah well I wanted to. What's going on?"

"Bonnie thinks the moonstone is down here." Elena explains.

Stefan pulls the lock off the iron grating and then takes the grating off the top of the well. He turns on the flashlight. He gets on the ledge and Elena handed him the flashlight.

"Hey. Be careful." "I'll only be down there for a minute." He assures.

Stefan jumps into the well. Elena holds her breath, but when she hears Stefan safely splash at the bottom she breathes out.

"Elena!!! Ariel!!!" I look over the edge as I try to see why he's screaming.

"Stefan?!" Elena yells back down trying to see what's happening. "Stefan, what's happening?!" I yell at him in worry.

"What's going on in there?!" Elena yells.

"Vervain. Oh, God! Help!"
