"Hey. Is she up yet?" Alaric asked when Elena let us in the house. She called us frantic because apparently Isobel showed up on their doorstep and Jenna was the one who opened the door so she locked herself in her room all night.

Elena shook her head at him "She won't come out of her room."

"What'd you tell her?" I asked.

"Nothing. She won't talk to me,"

Alaric sighed "We're gonna have to fix this, Elena."

I look up the stairs when Jenna comes down with a bag in hand.

"Hey."

"Jenna."

"I don't want you here, Ric. You need to go." Jenna says she puts her bag down to get her coat.

"Okay, listen. I can't begin to imagine what you must be feeling right now."

"Rage and betrayal would pretty much cover it." Jenna replies as she puts her coat on.

"Where are you going?" I ask.

"I'm going to stay on campus. I have a thesis to write, and I don't want to be in this house." Jenna responds.

"Jenna, please just stop. Let us explain to you exactly what is going on." Alaric says, trying to make Jenna listen.

She doesn't listen to him, looking at Elena "Elena, I need you to go to the Lockwood's today and accept the Historical Society's check for your mom's foundation."

"Okay, but, Jenna, please just..." Elena starts.

Jenna opens the door and turns around before Elena can finish her sentence "I don't have it in me to hear any more lies from you." Jenna says in betrayal, her voice thick with tears.

I raked a hand through my hair when she closed the door behind her, deciding to go after her "Jenna, just..."

"Let her go" We all turned around and saw John standing there coming towards us ". It's better that she's not here, what with everything that's going on but maybe had you been a little more honest with her from the beginning, this..."

Alaric was already pissed enough at John that hearing him say that didn't help matters so he punched him square in the face.

"Sorry, girls" He apologized even though we all knew he wasn't really sorry.

Elena marched up the stairs when Alaric left and I crossed my arms at him "this is your fault, you know that right?" I head up the stairs without even wanting to hear his answer.

...............

"I can't find him anywhere. He's not at home. He's not answering his phone." Caroline says panicked on her end of the phone.

"Did your mom hear anything?" I asked into the phone, I didn't exactly stick around when Sheriff Forbes arrived.

"No. She just thinks we're fighting but he knows about me, and he's freaking out about Vicki."

"I know" I say, slamming a hand to my forehead.

"I'll help you a bit, just if you find him You have to calm him down. Compel him if you have to. Did you slip him vervain?" I ask, ever since Caroline became a vampire, we've taken turns to vervain him.

"I didn't get to last night, so it's out of his system. He has a catering shift at the Lockwood's today. I'm gonna try there."

"Please! I'll be there in a few"
