Once Elena and I picked Jenna and Jeremy up, we had to drive to the Lockwood mansion. We were bring food like normal people do when someone dies. Even though the way Mayor Lockwood died is no where near normal.

"Looks like the whole town has turned out." Jeremy notes when we arrive.

I nod "Yeah. Well he is...he was the mayor."

"Why don't they save it for the funeral?" Jenna holds the casserole tightly as we walk up the steps.

"That's what people do. The Lockwood's were here for us when we went through this. It'll be quick; we'll drop off the food and pay our respects and go." Jeremy nods

"In and out? It sounds like a plan."
Elena looks to the side and sees Damon standing there.

"You guys go ahead, I'll be right there, okay?" I loop my arm around Jenna's and lead her inside.

After I found Tyler and paid my respects to both him and his mother, Bonnie had dropped the bomb saying Katherine was at the Mansion.

She had a 'chat' with Stefan that ended up with him impaled with a Candle stick. And that was basically what has happened this entire day.

And the rest of the afternoon was so-so that is till Elena called me sobbing. And I of course rushed over and what I saw was not what I was expecting.

The two of us hold Jeremy tightly, Damon had apparently come here drunk and snapped his neck. The question is whether or not he knew that Jeremy was wearing the gilbert ring.

Even if he knew or didn't know, the immense feeling of sorrow I felt when I saw Jeremy practically life less was horrible.

I mean, he, Matt, Elena and Jenna are the only family members that I have. The thought of losing them, the feeling I got in the pit of my stomach when I saw Jeremy was horrible and I never want to feel that ever again.

"He saw the ring, that's why he did it. He knew." Stefan said, trying to find some explanation for this horrible deed.

"He didn't see the ring." Elena argues. "It's Katherine. She got under his skin. She undid everything that was good about him." Elena shakes her head.

"There's nothing good about him. Stefan, not anymore. He's decided what he wants. He doesn't want to feel, he wants to be hated, it's just easier that way. He got his wish."

"I hate him, Stefan." Elena cries as Stefan kneels down next to her.

"I know. I know."

Jeremy suddenly wakes up gasping. My heart jumps out of my chest as Jeremy leans into us.  Stefan takes his face and looks in his eyes.

"Is he okay? Stefan, is he okay?" I ask rapidly as he checks. "He's okay. Shhh, you're okay." Stefan assures us, Elena and I breathe sighs of relief, thankful he's not a vampire.

"He killed me! Damon killed me!" Jeremy says frantic and in shock.
Elena and I hug him tight relieved.

 "It's okay. Oh God."
