I was still searching for a bathroom but everywhere was occupied. I felt so crowded in the place that I hurried and snuck off into a empty guest room.

"That's ironic," Jake said as I closed the door.

"You scared me idiot."

"Hmm, running from someone?"

"Yeah all these damn people," I sighed.

"There's a bathroom right there," he pointed.

"Thanks," I said, rushing off to use it.

When I came out Jake was still sitting on the bed.

"Why are you in here by yourself?" I asked.

"I wasn't, I was busy," he smirked.

"So you just finished having sex?"

"I didn't say that, I just implied I was busy."

"Whatever," I said, taking a seat next to him.

"I think I'm drunk," he laughed.

"You are," I smiled.

"Damn."

"Jake...." I said softly.

"I forgot to tell you that you looked beautiful," he smiled.

"Jake.. don't..."

"Don't what? it's a compliment. I always tell you that."

"I know but it's different now," I sighed.

"How?"

"I-urm.. I.. just don't do that okay?" I stammered.

"What don't you want me to do Emily?"

"I have to go," I said, walking towards the door.

As soon as I opened it Jake quickly stopped me by slamming his hand against the door.

"Jake.... I need to leave," I said.

"You didn't answer my question."

"I shouldn't have said that and I need to go, I have to get out...now.."

"Or what?"

I tried to resist looking at him by turning my head to the side but it was too hard. His body was close to mine just like the night he kissed me and I couldn't pretend it wasn't driving me crazy.

"Emily.. what's wrong?"

"Jake seriously? What's wrong?" I scoffed.

"Yeah," he nodded.

"You totally pushed aside our kiss as if it meant nothing to you. You moved on and acted like it never happened. And let's not forget how you were acting tonight."

"I didn't put anything aside or move on."

"Yes you did, it meant nothing to you which is why you told me to forget about it."

"You think I did that for you?" he chuckled. "Emily that was for me. I wasn't going to allow myself to get hurt by you. You're in love with someone else why can't you just see that."

"I do see it," I defended.

"Clearly you don't because if you are then why do you care about it? You barely care about anything especially me so why do you care that we kissed and I don't want to talk about it?"
