"Guys, I don't have time to learn a song!" Connor protested.

"Zatanna will help you," Kaldur said. The junior musician grabbed Connor's hand and pulled him into the rehearsal room.

Sitting down at the baby grand piano, she pulled out a copy of the same sheet music she'd given Connor and began to play.

Artemis and Wally pulled up outside the house where Megan lived with her uncle. They walked right in and up to her room, where Megan sat in bed studying.

"What are you guys doing here?" She asked in alarm.

"Bringing you back," Artemis said simply, selecting a white sundress with a pink ribbon on the back from Megan's closet.

Megan sighed, laying back on her pillows, "Guys, I'm not going back."

"That's what you think," Wally said, stepping out of the room as Artemis approached her best friend with a makeup kit and a curling iron.

Connor stepped onstage, more nervous than he was last winter, when he sung onstage in front of the whole school. This time it was different.

This time, Megan wasn't here with him.

Zatanna played the now-familiar intro, and Connor took a shaky breath.

"Once in a lifetime
means there's no second chance
so I believe that you and me
should grab it while we can."

"Make it last forever
and never give it back"

Connor stopped. Only one voice in the world sounded as perfect as that. He looked around for her, surprised  she'd come back at all.

"It's our turn, and I'm loving where we're at..."

The crowd of employees parted, and Megan appeared from between Artemis and Wally.

"Because this moment's really all we have."

There she was. Perfect and beautiful as always.

"Everyday
of our lives,"

Megan looked up at him with apology filling her eyes, "Wanna find you there, wanna hold on tight."

"Gonna run,
While we're young,
and keep the faith...
Everyday,
From right now,
gonna use our voices and scream out loud,"

"Take my hand;" Megan hand reached the stage by now, and Connor took her outstretched hand in his.

"Together we
will celebrate..."

"Celebrate,"

"Oh, ev'ryday!" Connor touched his forehead to Megan's and smiled. And at last, she did too.

The crowd cheered as he put his arm around her, escorting her up the stairs onto the stage.

"They say that you should follow
and chase down what you dream,
but if you get lost and lose yourself
what does is really mean?
No matter where we're going,
it starts from where we are.
There's more to life when we listen to our hearts
and because of you, I've got the strength to start!"
Yeah, yeah, yeah!

The two stood by Zatanna at the piano.

"Oh, ev'ryday!" Connor spun Megan under his arm and held her out in front of him

"We're taking it back,
we're doing it here
together!"

She smiled at him happily, happier than he'd seen her all summer.

"It's better like that,
and stronger now
than ever!l

"We're not gonna lose.
'Cause we get to choose.
That's how it's gonna be!"

They stood together in the center of the stage, suddenly at a loss for words.

"Everyday
of our lives,"

Megan leaned her head on Connor's shoulder and closed her eyes, trying to savor the moment.

"Wanna find you there, wanna hold on tight."

"Gonna run,
while we're young,
And keep the faith
Keep the faith!"

"Everyday!"

Suddenly, all their friends and the rest of the staff burst into song and began to dance towards the stage, Artemis, Wally, and Robin in the lead.

"Of our lives,

and keep the faith!"

They all grabbed hands and formed a circle, singing not for the audience, but for each other.

"Everyday
from right now,

They all lined up at the front of the stage and bowed, a team once more.

The team walked across the golf field arm in arm, everyone carrying a lantern. They reached the top of the hill, and Wally pointed out a shooting star cutting across the night sky

You know the words
"Once Upon A Time"
Make you listen?
There's a reason.

The others all ran down the hills in groups of two, setting down their lanterns and running around like little kids again, dancing across the soft, green, grass. But Megan and Connor stayed on top of the hill, watching their friends enjoy themselves and finally getting a chance to enjoy their summer together.

"Here's to summer," Megan said, raising her lantern in a toast.

"No," Connor shook his head, but raising his lantern as well, "Here's to promises."

Megan felt tears forming in the corners of her eyes, and Connor put his hand on the back of her neck, pulling her closer.
