I bet you thought I was never gonna update this again, didn't you?

"Connor, come on! It's almost time!" M'gann tossed the red-and-white checked blanket up in the air, letting it float back down to rest in the mountainside, perfectly spread flat on the grass and rocks

"I'm coming, I'm coming!" Connor promised. His strength should have allowed him to make it up the mountainside with the picnic basket as easily as M'gann with the picnic blanket, but Wolf was very interested in whatever M'gann had packed for them to eat, and so Connor was more concerned with pushing Wolf off than making it up to M'gann and the blanket.

"Here, boy," M'gann took Wolf by the scruff of his neck, guiding him up the slope ahead of Connor.

"I made sure to pack your favorite nachos," she sang to the dog, scratching him behind the ears.

Wolf barked joyfully, and Connor finally got to set down the picnic blanket.

"Here, fetch!" M'gann tossed a handful of Wolf's nachos a bit further up he mountain, and Wolf eagerly chased after them.

"You know, the more you indulge him, the more he's gonna want, right?" He asked M'gann.

She shrugged. "Everyone needs a little indulgence every once in a while." She said reasonably.

Connor sifted through the contents of the basket once more. "I suppose that's why you packed more dessert than dinner foods?"

M'gann turned slightly red. "We had a big lunch! And apple pie's your favorite!"

Connor wasn't surprised that she remembered that.

The two sat on the blanket, snacking on the food they'd packed. Eventually Wolf returned and lay down on the blanket, letting M'gann and Connor lay back and use his fluffy stomach as a pillow. Soemtimes it seemed like he considered the two of them, as well as everyone else on the team, his puppies.

"It's so beautiful," M'gann gasped as they watched the sun set in the distance, an artful explosion of pinks and oranges and reds and yellows.

Connor found his gaze wandering from the sky to his girlfriend. "Yes, yes it is."

He reached for her hand, and she wrapped their fingers together.

"On Mars, it's not this colorful," M'gann lamented. "But it's still really pretty."

"What color is it?" Connor asked, though he knew that somewhere amidst his Cadmus programming, he already knew.

"Blue." M'gann smiled, turning her head to face him. "Just like your eyes."
