You know what, Sorry but I'm not gonna apologize for making these short anymore :/

M'gann could hear his struggle a mile away, no matter how much he tried to hide it. Connor's fear screamed through the cracks in the wall, and she didn't need his supersenses to hear his struggling gasps for breath.

"Connor, Connor wake up!" She begged, trying to shake him awake. But her husband wouldn't budge. The light of the full Kansas moon shone through the window, reflecting off the sheen of sweat on Connor's pales skin.

His skin burned to her touch, and his mind seemed almost impenetrable. Either he was keeping her out, or something else was.

"Connor, it's me," she thought, trying to send him soothing images and memories.

Connor whimpered. Whimpered. M'gann had never heard that from him before. In the lifetime she'd known him, he'd seldom cried, and when he did he tried to hide it from her. A sound like that made her scared.

"Connor, wake up!" She said forcefully.

Connor's eyes snapped open, pupils dilated and teeth suddenly bared in a feral growl.

"Connor, it's me!" M'gann shouted. His body temperature was going down, and his breathing slowly returned to normal.

"M'gann..." He whispered. Leaning forward he hid his face in his hands.

M'gann wrapped her arms around him. "You had a nightmare, she said, as if Connor didn't remember. He nodded anyway, trying to steady his breathing.

"Tell me." She told him. Not asking, telling. There were no secrets between them now.

Connor shook his head, finally looking up at her. "I can't...I can't..."

They sat that way for a long time, wrapped in each other's arms.

"I love you," He whispered suddenly.

M'gann wrapped her fingers in his hair. "I love you too.

"Do you think you can go back to sleep?" She asked.

Connor shook his head and started to pull back his covers. "Don't want to." He grunted.

"What if I-" Both stopped.

"What if I went in there with you. I could stay in your psyche, help you fight off your nightmares."

Connor thought about it for a moment, then got back into bed. "Yeah. Yeah, I'd like that."

M'gann kissed his forehead. "I'll be with you, all the way."

Connor lay down and pulled M'gann to him, holding her tight as they entered his psyche.

With Connor's help, M'gann fought off shapeless horrors and horrifying memories. She staggered when she heard dirty words spat in their direction, but Connor could fight them off just as well as she could.

They watched over each other, defending each other through thick and thin.

Nothing could hurt them as long as they were together.
