New and a bit alarming
Who'd have ever thought that this could be?
True that he's no Prince Charming
But there's something in him that I simply didn't see
M’gann was unfamiliar to love, she had only faced rejection on Mars. She wondered why she always felt the desire to blush whenever Superboy looked at her, or why she was overly upset when he was mad at her. She felt a strong desire to keep him safe and to be nice to him.
Superboy had never experienced love before, Cadmus programming didn’t give him any of that. What was the strange feeling he always felt around M’gann? When he saw her smile, he wanted to keep her smiling. when she was hurt, he wanted to make her feel better.
Is this love?
“Well, who'd have thought?” Robin asked Kaldur and Zatanna as they spied on the Martian and Kryptonian while they watched a movie and made cookies. Superboy had been so hostile towards Miss Martian when they first met. What had caused this sudden change?
“Well, who'd have known?” Kaldur grinned at Robin, they all knew Kaldur had seen it before M’gann and Connor even had.
“Who indeed?” Zatanna giggled.
“And who'd have guessed they'd come together on their own?” Robin asked, “I thought I’d have to lock them in a room together to get them together?
We'll wait and see,
A few days more,
There may be something there that wasn't there before...
“You know,” Kaldur said as the three walked away, “Perhaps there is something there that wasn't there before.”
“What’s there?” Wally asked, running down the hall towards them.
Zatanna looked back the way she came and smiled mysteriously, “There may be something there that wasn't there before...”
