An Alternate Universe where there is no team and no Justice League, but there are aliens. Superman is dead, and Superboy was cloned and now lives with his human father, LexLuthor. Based off the song "Angels" by Owl City.
He lay awake. Staring at the stars painted on his dark blue bedroom ceiling. She had helped him paint them there. They were the reminder that he wasn't crazy. That she really did exist.
She visited him whenever she could. He would lie awake almost the whole night, listening with his super-hearing for the sound of her ship. Some nights, when he couldn't sleep at all, he'd pace in front of his window, the one that faced the big old oak tree in the yard, occasionally stopping to check with his infrared vision to see of she was in camelflouge mode. She had done that once, on Halloween, pretending to be a ghost when he came home from trick-or-treating. They'd both had a laugh at that one. And sometimes she disguised herself as one of the servants.
Connor Kent-Luthor of Krypton and Earth could not wait to see M'gann M'orzz of Mars again.
M'gann had come to this planet with her uncle. Being a Martian shapeshifter, he had adopted a human form and worked for the police. M'gann, on the other hand, was rather shy, and preferred to stay at home, but she had taken on a human form as well.
He heard a rustling in the bushes in the garden, and he jumped out of bed and landed on his knees, hard, by the window. Nothing. Just a squirrel.
Connor sighed, and laid back on his bed, thinking back to the day he had first met M'gann.

They had crashed in his backyard. Their first night on earth was a crash landing. No one else was home. His father was at a meeting, and the servants were all sent away for the night. Connor was alone. Without thinking, he threw on a pair of pants and a jacket over his black t-shirt with the red "S" before running outside to see what it was. He didn't know why he always wore a T-shirt, black or blue, with that "S", it just felt right.
He immediately saw the ship. Red and blue, an orb with two prongs jutting out in the front. There was no visible entrance, but a hole appeared in the back of the ship, and a green man appeared. Well, a green humanoid anyways. He wore a blue cloaks with a black jumpsuit that had a big red "X" on the chest.
"Who are you?" What are you?" Connor asked breathlessly.
"My name is J'onnJ'onzz. I am from the planet Mars. What is your name?" The green humanoid asked.
"My...my name is Connor." He said slowly.
"Uncle J'onn?" A feminine voice from inside the ship asked cautiously.
"How many more of you are there?" Connor asked, on guard.
"Only me, and my niece, M'gann." J'onn assured him. A girl, about Connor's age, appeared from the shadows. She was green, with soft brown eyes, red hair, green skin, and a uniform similar to her uncle's. Connor could not get out of his mind how beautiful she looked.
J'onn and M'gann explained their plight to Connor. They had escaped from the destruction of their home planet, Mars, and had traveled to Earth, which had an environment they could easily get accustomed to. Their "bio"-ship had suffered damage when they entered the atmosphere, and needed sometime to repair itself. In the meantime, the two of them needed a place to stay. Connor volunteered the garden shed, which would be an alright place for them to rest for the night. At least until eleven o'clock, when the gardener would come to work on the garden.
