[WATTPAD FEATURED]
❝Sometimes, what we know turns out to be just a drop. Whereas what we don't, often sizes up to an ocean.❞

Nam Eunbi had moved to Seoul to accomplish her only goal in life, that was, having Min Yoongi by her side. But it seem...

It was obvious that with half lidded eyes and a consistently swaying head, Eunbi would not be able to make it to the day off. After a careful consideration of her surroundings, she landed her head on the table placed in front of her, her action resulting in a loud thud. Expectedly, everybody jolted their vision to the source of that unusual sound in a flash, only to find their colleague dozing off as if she was not fortunate enough to score a good night's sleep last night.
Their assumption was true somehow too, nevertheless.
However, as a pumped-up Bomin dashed out of Yoongi's office, everybody's attention got diverted to him.
Once he had realized that everyone had lent him their ears, he announced, "All of you in the meeting room, quickly."
His last word held such an impact that the otherwise snoozing lady too had widened her eyes to regain consciousness, as soon as it fell into her ears. Still under the spell of sleep nevertheless, Eunbi elicited a half-hearted yawn as her remorseful eyes corresponded the same, dragging herself to follow to wherever the herd was going.
It was ridiculous how the woman whose eyes were bloodshot red due to the lack of sleep, was not even bothering to wink now. Well, it was not like she had been pity-partying previously, but such a matter had slipped onto the table-top that she could not help but pray for herself not to be caught.
The man whom she had mercilessly murdered the night before, his body had already been retrieved by the police. She was sure about the tunnel not being so frequently used by the commuters, or else why would a jail-breaker be passing through it so casually?
But it turned out that Eunbi had misjudged the situation. As Yoongi continued to brief further, she had come to know that because of its secluded location, the tunnel was a part of the regular route that the patrolling unit used to keep vigil of.
Oh, how much Eunbi wished at that instant to pull her hair out of her scalp, for such a foolish act had been done by her. But she had to maintain her calm, even if it was until the time period that the meeting lasted.
As much as Eunbi remembered, she was cautious enough not to leave any incriminating evidence. But her hair, it could be possible that they left a DNA strain of hers on the crime spot.
"Ugh, I should've just shaved my head bald." Eunbi mumbled mindlessly, not taking account of the confounded faces that encircled her until Yoongi had cleared his throat in order to address her.
"Is something wrong, Technician Nam?" Yoongi asked in an assertive manner while still being focused on the details that he was noting down on the self-explanatory white-board.
"N—No sir, I was just wondering ab— wondering about... why would he kill himself in the same way as he did his family? The manner of stabbing... it's the same, see for yourself." Eunbi passed along the images of the victims to Yoongi once she had marked her speculation in the form of certain figures.
Her boss seemed to be pleased with her claim, or so she believed. But before he could confirm that with his facial features, another voice intervened.
"That just couldn't be possible. The weapon is as deeply inserted into his abdomen as it was in the former victims. One cannot push something so hurtful into him all by himself. It's impossible for a human to exert so much pressure onto his own body. I believe it's a murder. I believe that someone else has killed him. Though that complicates the homicide of his family. I think it won't be right to correlate the two matters—"
"You're actually right, Lieutenant Go. But if we combine your and Technician Nam's opinions of the killer, that leads to a completely new theory. That would mean..."
"What would that mean, sir?" A female officer queried, which caused Yoongi to snicker and erase all the material that he had written on the board until then.
"That years back, Technician Nam turned in the wrong person to the police. It must also be why he attacked you that day... I'm not wrong, am I?" Yoongi had shifted his profile to face Eunbi again, whose dilated pupils he mistook as a consequence of utter shock— that she convicted an innocent person.
However, the real reason why she had been rendered tongue-tied was because of the fear regarding her cover blowing up too soon, with her failing at making any progress to win Yoongi back.
Eunbi gulped, which acted as a cue for Yoongi to stop torturing her by continuing to preserve the suspense.
"It's okay, Technician Nam. You acted on your impulse, it's alright. But officers," Yoongi rose his volume, ultimately turning every presence in the room active, and continued, "we now know that there was a third person who actually did it all. We must find him before things start to get worse. There's a serial killer on loose, and we must protect everyone from him."
🚨
"Yoongi, do you have a minute?" Bomin's sudden appearance at the exit of the meeting room thrilled Yoongi inside out, eventually leading him to check if his heart was still working— by placing his palm on his chest.
"I'm sorry if I scared you. I've been waiting here for the last five minutes to catch you free. My efforts bore fruit I guess, and I'm glad." Bomin forced a weak smile upon his lips, subtly deterring Yoongi from resuming the small talk.
Yoongi knew whom it must be all about. And so, he took the first step into the discussion himself.
