A somewhat strangely pleasing yet toxic thought had begun to bounce against the four walls of Eunbi's head. The spectacle before her was compelling her to take the very decision that she was so miserably trying to ward off her mind. A decision that would affect her entire lifetime, that could have otherwise been so smoothly laid out before her had she also prioritized her own self like Yoongi did. A decision that could prove to be a matter of regret to her throughout her life, for no matter how worthless the male had made her thought of herself, she knew that she was much more than that. Discarding her life just like that, for something that could be set straight with methods innumerable, was indeed a thought very contrasting to Eunbi's ideology.
Had Yoongi not called her brave, for being able to resist all the odds thrown at her since the beginning? At the age when everyone is supposed to be relying upon a grown-up for their survival, Eunbi had already set out for her own journey, making choices of her own and embracing her mistakes as she tread along the universally defined path.
Would that not make her double resilient against the unanticipated and unfavorable situations awaiting her? Would that not justify that she deserved to live longer, and more gleefully?
Eunbi, when a whistling wind flew past by her, was flinched back into her senses. Grimacing as she found herself clung to the railing bars, she wasted no time in stepping down as well. All of it felt so new to her, near to unreal.
Beginning to love one's own self really has that much impact on a damaged soul, does it not?
But what led her towards making an almost dramatic change of mindset was Yoongi's harsh words, which kept on swirling inside her brain.
Why don't you go kill a person? No way you would you do that, of course. Just like no way I would ever revert my old feelings back for you.
"Equating a murder with feelings, did Yoongi really think that was the best excuse he had got? Doesn't he know me? Bet he doesn't. If he had, he would've never dared to utter something like that in the first place." Eunbi sniggered, taking a swift turn towards the opposite side of the railing and walking away in the process.

PRESENT
A glint of recollection was visible in Eunbi's eyes, of all the ruthless killings and the thieveries that she had committed. For sure, it was not something to be proud of. But the fact that it was a challenge that was proposed to her with the original intention of looking down on her, was a stimulant enough for Eunbi to prove herself.
She still thanked her own self, along with the younger Yoongi's sympathetic words, for making her change her mind. Had she thrown away her life that day, she would have been living amongst her fellow dead community, with the only exception of her being left unclaimed and unlooked-after, unlike most of them. The thought of her lifeless body eventually settling down on the river bed— covered with layers of soil and sand— after months of floating, still scared the shit out of her. After all, what could be worse than that?
"Ugh! The thought doesn't fail at making me shiver even after so much time has passed." Eunbi shuddered, jolting herself into a sitting position finally.
With eyes widening due to the fear, her breath slowly receded back to normal when she glimpsed two contradictory shades of nail-paint waiting for themselves to be tried-on by her. Subtly smiling to herself, she stretched her arm to fetch those, subsequently readjusting herself on her unmade bed comfortably.
Recalling her first encounter as a killer, an apologetic expression took over her features unconsciously. That selfish and cruel act of hers for sure benefited her, for she was able to mask her face with new features, with the money that she had looted from her victims. But the way she had put a full stop to a genuinely happy and loving family—one she never got to experience— pinched her conscience mercilessly every once in a while.
Though that was all. With her execution of such a lowly and disgusting task, she had also brought an end to her many such future endeavors.
"All I required was money. If she gave to me what I had asked of her, they all wouldn't have ended up this way." Eunbi mumbled with candid remorse.
However, when her sight aligned with that of her newly painted nails— alternately black and white, with no previous plans— she waved her fingers in front of her eyes delightfully. And what felt like a drastic swing in her mood, she spoke something—that even her endless repentance would not be able to suffice for— indeed very merrily.
"Have I done enough for you to love me back, Yoongi?" Her eyes crinkled, making it look more like a response coming from a maniac.
