The only thing that succeeded in leaving Bomin astonished was the condition of Eunbi's room— which appeared quite contrary to the female's own demeanor.
Her room was dead messy. If Bomin had a choice, he would rather push Yoongi into this hellhole than succumbing to the sight of it. Every step that he advanced further into the room, felt like approaching the eye of the storm to him.
"Would I even be able to find my way back to the door through this clutter?" Bomin mumbled to himself frailly, suddenly contemplating his life choices out of nowhere.
Continuing to trace the walls and nooks of the room with his eyes, Bomin would not be joking if he said that a majority of Eunbi's possessions were as vague as a layperson's. One just could not arrive at suspecting her based on the things that she owned. Even the objects lying around recklessly were the commodities of daily use.
After all, how could a bunch of books and magazines, and tousled blanket and sheets, possibly harm anyone in any way?
Hopping his way towards the bed, he did not realize that he had actually landed—with his full weight, thanks to the litter that Eunbi had spread out— on a fragile material until a splinter of glass pierced into his arm. He stood up abruptly, throwing the blanket off Eunbi's bed—ultimately revealing a broken photo frame. What he did, would not have mattered much to him in a normal circumstance, but when his vision fell upon the people whom that photo contained, he became the embodiment of bewilderment.
Adolescent Yoongi and a girl who was definitely not Eunbi, were smiling sincerely in the picture. Rubbing his eyes instinctively in disbelief, he narrowed his gaze onto the photo yet again. However, nothing seemed to change.
"This isn't normal, this isn't normal. She didn't just like Yoongi. She was obsessed with him! What if she became an employee just for his sake only? This is so messed up!" Bomin groaned, though his distress proved to be short-lived when his phone began to ring.
As he had anticipated, the caller turned out to be Yoongi.
"You don't need to worry anymore. Your sister is fin—uh, not so fine but she's under the watch of doctors now. I wanted to inform you that it's time we switch places. You're free for the day, come and look after Juhui."
Bomin did not respond to Yoongi's proposal for a few minutes. Even Yoongi got worried over him suddenly going silent. But before he could repeat himself, the other male had already began to speak.
"You need to come here as soon as possible, Yoongi. The girl's not right in her mind. She's freakin' obsessed with you! Juhui can wait, but I can't afford to leave your side now— especially until all her insanity doesn't die down." Bomin gasped, muddling Yoongi as to what he must mean by all of that.
"Don't act stupid, Bomin. Your sister isn't stable right now. Come, meet and talk to her if you don't wanna grieve for the rest of your life. You shouldn't take her life for granted at this point in time. As for me, I'll be there in seconds. I'm your superior anyway, you don't need to fret about my safety." Yoongi reassured Bomin, though still completely clueless about the reason behind the latter's fear.
🚨
Eunbi was immeasurably astounded over the fact that out of all the people, Yoongi still had not stopped caring about the very person who hurt him in the worst way possible. Although Eunbi did not require being afraid of anything now. The only witness who had observed her bare face while she committed all those crimes, must already be on her way to afterlife. Eunbi's stabs had never failed, and reckoning the bare possibility of Juhui enduring all those attacks would be nothing but deluded optimism.
Treading merrily on her path, all her enthusiasm diminished when she noticed the lights of her humble abode already turned on. The stupor further intensified when she saw two cars parked in front of her building's gate.
"No way..." Escaped her mouth as she began to hasten her feet towards her home, only to be dismayed yet again.
Yoongi and Bomin were standing together before the ajar door that led into her house, probably talking about something that they might have discovered about her. Gaping over the scene before her— for all her confidence had crumbled at the mere sight of them— she unsteadily placed her steps backwards, attempting to escape from the situation with all her might.
"Fuck! No!" Eunbi shrieked at the top of her lungs when she figured that she had finally arrived in solitude. Shutting her ears as tears began to flood out of her eyes, she squatted down on the cemented road, remaining in the same posture not until she had caught her breath.
"This wasn't supposed to happen, this was not supposed to happen. What the hell am I to do now? Do I not deserve to live a happy life? Ah, I'm so tired of all this!" Eunbi wailed yet again, this time breaking down frantically.
Then all of a sudden, she rose up straight on her feet, with her steps no longer quivering. Carrying on to head towards the destination that she had had resolved in her mind, she did not let a single tear affect her determination in the meantime. Sniffling her emotions back every once in a while, she eventually reached the place from where all of it started to go wrong.
The very same river at whose sight Eunbi had scrunched up her nose once. The very same bridge from which she had decided to jump off years back. Had she done it in time, would she have been finally living in peace? Would she have achieved the bliss that way, that she had been looking for throughout her life?
"I'll not live so miserably in my next life." Shutting her eyes tightly, she let her body fall freely into the river that flowed beneath the bridge, at last putting an end to her immensely complicated life.
