"A person makes a promise only when there are less chances of him keeping his word

"A person makes a promise only when there are less chances of him keeping his word. Do you know why? Because that way, he becomes able to fool others into trusting him and disclosing their weaknesses to him— his original intention behind all that facade. Hence, he doesn't remain obliged to you anymore for now he has the power to threaten you with that dark past of yours. I've had enough of such experiences, and indeed very disappointingly, Yoongi's name exists amongst those sweet-talkers too. Looking back, I'm sure that I've loved him all along. Then why is it so that all of a sudden, I can't help but deem him as a hypocrite now? What do you think, Juhui? Why am I feeling this way?" Eunbi spoke calmly, not a tinge of apprehension visible on her face.

The two souls in the room appeared as if they were sitting on the two faraway ends of a seesaw. On one hand where Eunbi had not looked so tranquil throughout the span of time that Juhui had known her, the latter was trembling with fear, instinctively frightened of the unanticipated. The mere fact that Eunbi had transformed herself into someone whom she usually was not, was somehow the major cause behind Juhui's worry.

Scared, Juhui just stared blankly into Eunbi's eyes. She did not even realize when certain words rolled off her tongue yet again, "Wh—what did Yoongi do to you? Do both of you go long back? If yes, then how?"

"Are you sure you wanna listen? I think you can't project the consequences of it in that small brain of yours. But if you insist," Eunbi smirked slightly, revolving around the tied-up Juhui in a manner that unnerved the latter eventually, and resumed, "We were in love with each other some years back, but something happened which led Yoongi to break up with me. He had called me a coward, someone who wasn't capable of standing up for herself."

Eunbi huffed ephemerally as she recalled her heart-crushing tale of love, though she had successfully reverted from being somber in a matter of seconds. Pasting the same sinister smile back on her lips, she continued, "I asked him if there was a way for him to like me back. He told me to go and kill a person—"

"Y—Yoongi said that?" Juhui intervened, her eyes screaming disbelief.

"Yes, he told me that just like how I would never be able to do that, he too would never be able to like me back the same way again. But I proved him wrong. I did what he said." Eunbi snickered again, intimidating Juhui with a simple glance of hers.

"What do you mean you did it? What did you d—"

"I killed a person. In fact, I killed three people. No, there must be more..." Eunbi dragged her speech as she began counting on her fingers, at which Juhui could not refrain from scrutinizing her figure with disgust.

"Got it! I killed that family, that man, my da—"

"Shut it! Please, have some fear. I'm begging you, please don't count all the killings that you've done as your achievements!" After spending nearly an hour of hers obeying her captor's orders, Juhui had come to realise that she had had enough. She just was not going to listen to any of her bullshit anymore, she had become utterly determined of that.

"But why? I was thinking of adding another accolade to that list tonight..." Eunbi pouted, puzzling Juhui for real this time.

"What do you mean?" Juhui asked, her brows stitching into one due to the confusion.

"That means bitch, that I'm going to kill you tonight," Eunbi pressed her lips into a sardonic smile, yanking her dagger out of her bag in an instant, "Why do you think you'll stay alive when you've gotten to know about my secret? Come on, you should've worked that brain of yours when I had asked you to. No need to pretend being so shocked now."

As quick as she had always been in matters like such, Eunbi pushed the knife into her hostage's abdomen, a gushing stream of blood soon following the action. Jerking the knife out of Juhui's body, Eunbi was all set to make a second thrust, but a man's wailing stopped her in her tracks. She required a couple of minutes to fathom whom did the voice belong to, and the epiphany unarguably caused her to go frenzy at her own spot.

"Yoongi? What is he doing here?" Eunbi shifted her gaze between Juhui and the door of that room, only to catch a satisfyingly grinning Juhui as blood spluttered from her mouth. "Ah, you must've told on me again. Trust me when I say you'll regret this. You're not gonna survive anyway so what's the use, huh?" Planting her fist upon Juhui's jawline, Eunbi jumped off the window, and started to run for her life.

"What are you doing? This is not the way to Juhui's house!" Bomin yelled when he observed Yoongi taking wrong turns consistently. He even tried to move the steering wheel accordingly, but to no avail. Yoongi was just too much engrossed in making Bomin land somewhere else.

After sparing glances at Yoongi helplessly, Bomin sighed out of relief when he ultimately halted. However, he was not quite pleased with the sight of the building that was now standing before them.

"Listen to me attentively, climb up to the second floor and go to the third house on your way. I require your assistance here more than I need you at Juhui's. Search the place thoroughly and keep a check on who else tries to enter into that house. Stay there until I make Juhui reach the hospital. We'll then switch places. You get me?" Yoongi briefed, earning a nod of acknowledgement from a strangely sincere Bomin.

Dropping Bomin to render his assignment, Yoongi then sped to his ex's home— which seemed eerily quiet from the outside. For sure, broken shreds of glass and displaced CCTV cameras intrigued him, but he did not have enough time to investigate further into it. Clueless, he began to cry out Juhui's name in the hope that she would at least respond to it.

Little did he know that he unknowingly signaled Eunbi of his presence by that, aiding her in fleeing from the scene.
