"Fucking hell, she has ties with the local gangs?" Yoongi scoffed in disbelief, intriguing Bomin—who apparently knew less about the underworld than his superior.
"Wait— What are you talking about? I didn't quite understand..." Bomin spoke up hesitatingly, causing Yoongi to match eyes with him disapprovingly, for it was rather surprising for a cop not to know such basics regarding one of the major obstructions in the path to a utopian society.
"This conversation— in which she is asking about a man— she had it with Hyuk. I'll be very disappointed if you happened to have no idea about him." Yoongi swayed his head in reluctance, eyebrows arching in the hope that it would hint the clueless man of something useful. And it did, though not until he had taken five full minutes for himself to brainstorm the names of all the gangsters whom he had encountered in his rich career of seven years.
"Oh my, isn't he one of the key-members of that pain in the ass group? I don't really remember the name but I do know how notorious they are. By the way sir, wasn't it a security breach that you had referred to the situation as? Then why are you going through a specific device? To be honest, the security breach thing kind of sounds like a lie now. It's about time you told me what you had originally planned, and what you're actually after." Bomin completed as he folded his arms, shooting a curious gaze towards Yoongi and making him inconspicuously shudder under it.
"I did this because I wanted to prove Juhui's claims wrong. Turns out she was right all along... every single thing that she said to me was right. Eunbi really had that effect on me— wow, I can't believe it." Yoongi let out a pitiful laugh, clearly directed at his own self. As much as he could recall, he had never let Eunbi step into his life beyond a certain limit. Then how did he wind up making such a fool out of himself?
"Juhui... Eunbi? Why are they in a single sentence? Did something happen between them two?" Bomin— this time genuinely confused— put forth another query before Yoongi could even finish giving a satisfactory answer to his first question.
"Eh? Juhui didn't tell you?"
It was Yoongi's turn to stare at Bomin with widened eyes now, since living with the brother-sister duo, he had at least come to know about the kind of relationship that both of them shared. Of course, they were seen at each other's throats majority of the times, but there was not a single instance when one did not know the whereabouts of the other. That was why Yoongi had appeared to be quite taken aback, because it seemed like the dreaded distancing in their bond had finally occurred.
"Why do you look so shocked? Is Juhui safe? Well, whom I'm even asking... didn't you two break—"
"She was attacked a day back by an intruder. It wasn't a robbery for sure, because the person didn't take a single thing away with her. Juhui alleged Eunbi as her attacker, supported with facts. But I guess I just wasn't willing to believe her after how she had confessed her infidelity yesterday. That's why I used that security breach trope to look into the matter myself, for I know that even if I had asked Eunbi about it, she would've declined. I mean it's that obvious, isn't it?" Yoongi briefed the entire episode of last night to Juhui's brother, as he circled his way half past the desk. Settling himself in the chair again, he swore he had not anticipated Bomin furiously punching his fist onto the table-top.
A loud, bone-crunching sound was what had yanked Yoongi out of his ease.
"It's been a whole damn day that my sister got attacked by that psycho subordinate of yours and you're telling me about it now? How can you be so carefree about it, Yoongi—"
"We're still in our workplace so I'd like to remind you that you're not supposed to drop the honorifics until we leave th—"
"Fuck those honorifics, literally, fuck them. Seriously man, what's wrong with you? It's evident how she has killed that man, and most probably his family too if she thought that spilling her secret that day was extremely smart of her. Goddamn it, she assaulted my sister too! What else do you require to arrest her? Juhui's report must be enough to shove her behind the bars!" Bomin yelled uncontrollably towards the end, which made his voice resonate throughout the entire compound. Even Yoongi's relentless pleas were proving to be insufficient for him to contain his wrath.
Though little did the raging man know that the consequences that anger brings are always bad, be it direct or indirect.

Unlike everyone else in the police station, Eunbi had already immersed herself into overhearing the exchange between Yoongi and Bomin, for a pretty long time. Nevertheless, the mumbles that she was once finding hard to decipher were gradually turning into audible cries, allowing her a relatively better insight of what must be the underlying cause of their conflict.
However, when Yoongi dashed out of the door— revealing a distressed Bomin with head leaned onto the table— Eunbi realized that all of that must have had something to do with Juhui. Every time she had noticed Bomin sulking, it had always been because of his sister— providing her with a rational enough reason to trust her assumption.
Closing the door shut, Yoongi also wavered the strong yet sad glance Eunbi had fixed inside his office. He approached her mindfully, with the same tray that he had used to collect the employees' phones a while back. Stretching his arm further towards her, he placed her phone on her desk, and followed it with a question.
"Where were you the night before last night? I was trying to contact you." Yoongi went straightforward, with a subtle play of emotions on his face.
"Me? Uh... I don't really remember. Why, what happened?"
"I've told you numerous times that you make an easy prey for people who want to hurt others. You should keep your phone on, and with you all the time. Promise me that you'll always carry your phone with you? Who knows when I might end up planning another Itaewon trip for us? Uh, I sound so stupid right now. But anyway, you get me, right?" Yoongi wore a smile as he finished, making sure that it would tempt Eunbi to give in to his request.
"I promise." Eunbi mirrored his expression too, though her smile was more heartfelt than the man's.
