After having collated the two video samples that he was suspecting to be relating to each other in a certain way, Yoongi's mind had been in quite a tussle since last night. Even several shots of coffee did not prove helpful in ebbing his headache. He had to think of a way as quickly as possible, to solidify his hunch before anyone else. Although he could ask Bomin for help, provided how much he disliked Eunbi in general, he did not want to fuel the validation of his speculation with a personal brawl. Yes, it would make the task much easier, but Yoongi knew that he was better than that.
Moreover, he could not just confront Eunbi and point his finger at her, counting all the misdeeds that she had supposedly done. The offender in both the scenarios bore resemblance with the female's silhouette very oddly, leading Yoongi to assume that Eunbi might be the one behind it all.
Being a police officer, he was aware of how things were done, and that this way would undoubtedly be deemed as groundless by everyone. He needed to search for more evidences to accuse Eunbi— whose presence, according to Juhui, was nothing but a pretense.
A statement, etched in his memory, was still as fresh as ever. That man who had attacked Eunbi in Itaewon, while she was rendering an undercover mission with Yoongi, had cursed the girl regarding how losing his family made him feel all along because of her. His gaze and his words were surely fearsome, but the way he was burning with rage would steer anyone into surmising that Eunbi actually had something to do with all of that.
Bomin's inclination towards the death of that very man being a homicide, and Eunbi's proposition about the killer of the man and his family being the same, respectively, were supporting Yoongi's theory ever more strongly. Not to forget the similarities that Juhui had drawn between her assaulter and Eunbi.
Everything was returning back to Eunbi, as if it were a vicious cycle. Despite that, one thing still kept on bothering Yoongi.
Why would Eunbi expose herself like that? What might be her objective behind what unerringly gave the impression of a reckless move in Yoongi's true opinion?
"You call?" There came Bomin, pulling the male out of this thoughts.
Yoongi had asked for him to discuss about the same matter that had been inconveniencing him for a few hours now. But as it seemed like, he had already come up with an idea of his own. Gesturing Bomin to take a seat, he instead stood up from his own, heading towards outside. Even though he did not make it clear for Bomin to wait for him there, the latter preferred to adapt himself to Yoongi's office's ambience instead.
"There has been recorded a security breach in the station. All of the employees are requested to submit their phones to me. They'll be returned back to you as soon as the inspection gets over." Hands clasped, Yoongi announced amidst the deafening chatters, ultimately bringing about the orderly silence that one would expect in a police station.
Questioning looks were shot at him, because a mishap like that had not ever occurred under Yoongi's supervision. The officers did not doubt his command nonetheless, and placed their phones in the tray that he had brought along with himself. Maintaining his composed front, he went back inside his office, and forwarded the tray full of devices towards Bomin.
"What is happening, sir? Mind explaining to me?" No matter how much Bomin tried to hide his disappointment, a scowl still remained persistent on his face. Yoongi clicked his tongue in response, causing the other man to raise his brow in amusement.
"Check the location of this phone from yesterday, hurry." Yoongi had to pick out the phone himself when Bomin showed reluctance in receiving the tray.
"Why, though? What's going on in that brain of yours this time—"
"No questions. Just do what I say. Once I become sure of my skepticism, I'll tell you everything. But before that, I need you to cooperate. So please, quickly check this phone's location." Yoongi, keeping his voice low, attempted at convincing Bomin. A trace of apprehension could be found in Bomin's eyes regarding his claim, but he decided to comply eventually.
After taking a few moments of his own while looking for an answer that would quench Yoongi's curiosity, Bomin turned his vision away from the computer screen to match eyes with his superior, "This police station is the last location that this device is showing, after that the owner probably switched it off."
"Dammit!" Yoongi slammed his palms against the table in frustration before resuming, "Check anything that seems suspicious— the texts, the pictures. Look for everything that's inside it."
"We can't do that, it's unlawfu—"
"I don't care, Bomin. We may end up discovering something very crucial in that device's contents. At this point, I couldn't care less about a thing being unlawful. So for heaven's sake, just do it!" Yoongi interjected, urging Bomin to get back to the work that the former had assigned to him.
"What the..." Post an unexpectedly long spell of awkward silence, Bomin spoke up, only to drag his words towards the end. As likely as it was, it augmented Yoongi's interest even more, which led him to empty his seat once again and have a look at what his subordinate had found out.
"What happened?" Yoongi asked as he peeped into the computer screen.
"I came across a whole thread filled with cryptic messages and stuffs, and what has come as a result when I tried to solve it has blown away my mind. See for yourself." The other male said as he displaced the screen for Yoongi, for him to check the subject matter comfortably.
